Wait... what?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Teaser

Oh god. Adding fuel to the fire!

-
installing it now...
...4hours left

Well, basically it takes 2~4 days to cancel your preorder on steam.
It takes me 2 hours to go buy it in a store (give or take 30 mins).
So it's still faster for me to wait 1 day and 5 hours I guess...
But it's still freakin shitty!
-
i still don't see any official reason for this?
console versions were being sold last week; shit, even the 360 version was pirated for fucks sake.
why should i pay over the odds for a game that i will get later than everyone else, and has removed features i actually wanted?
this is fucking madness, why are pc gamers, and steam users, being punished so much? i payed for cod4 twice for fucks sake, i even bought cod5, cod1 and 2 - fuck this, this is unforgivable. even if your game raises jesus from the grave and spit polishes my cock there is no way i am going to buy this until i see it 2nd hand. but oh wait - the game is locked to a steam account so we can't even do that.

Yo rick bro lets make a movement against this shit!! ORGASM! Outraged Radical Gamers Against Steam Management!
-
Story - Awesome. No penalty for killing civilians in Brazil? And this game is hard
Veteran is like "Angry computer kid".MP - What the jesus. I'm lagging BAD. IW.Net finds a "good" server, and I get connection failed, or lag like a bitch. Have played with 1 good host, until the game crashed (dunno what reason). Hopefully it will be better when more people are playing... If not, I want my money back (AFTER I FINISH SP).

£26 in Sainsburys.
Probably a bit late now...

Lol this turning into mapchan.

ATVI did the locked preorder stuff, not us. blows

I wonder about that Steam lock thing. It's not actually locked for all PC buyers, just people who bought it from Steam- retail copies can be activated IN steam and work right away, which is totally gay.
So I want to know what would be the reason for this. Walmart pressure? Trying to artificially boost the sale figures of the PC version since NPD numbers don't count digital distro? Spite?
A lot of people like to point fingers at Gamestop but any company listening to Gamestop about anything PC related would have to be literally retarded, since most of their stores don't even stock PC games at all anymore, since they can't be sold used. At my local Gamestop if you ask for PC games they'll offer to order them online and have them shipped to the store for you, at extra cost. What great service!

Liking the SP so far, but mostly because of the spectacular scenes and variety of weapons. The airport mission was brilliant. I still dislike so much wack the mole gameplay and hate the veiwjerk and blood every time you get shot. That's not proper in a game with automatic weapons, feels like someone is constantly shaking you. Also visually incredible game tbh.
I'm going Friday to Britain, and if the MP is still good like people seem to be saying it is, I'm buying the game if I can get it for under 40,-.
Anyway back to dragon age for a few hours then I'll play the rest of the SP.

For the sake of all of the people that has baught it on steam and got to wait until thursday:

Could be pressure from retailers or maybe the margin for Activision is higher when the copy is sold in a brick and mortar store than when distributed over Steam or...

I wonder how valve feels about this since theres a lot of people thinking its their fault.
+ the costs of overtime on their support staff from angry customers that wants their money back to go to the store.

I just got the game ordered on Amazon as I was away for a few days and didn't have chance to sort it beforehand.
So the reviews are in and it seems to be a hit (like there was ever any doubt), which is awesome. Although there are still lots of people crying about multiplayer and giving it 1 star user reviews (lol)
I heard that

... can't wait to see how that turns out!

5hour install done, now steam is too busy to handle my request

Damnit, I'm sure the PC version is the best to play but all my friends have it on the 360. More people need to be cool and play PC games.

But yeah, pretty mental reviews from looking at MetaCritic. Maybe I should finish Call of Duty 4 at some point.

Finished the SP in one go, slightly underwhelmed but then again its obviously hard for any game to follow something as amazing as COD4, and with as ridiculous a hype train as MW2 has.
QuoteHighlights for me were probably the end of the rooftop chase in Rio, the E3 demo snow base and the hanging out with Cpt Price snowy mission. Kinda low key stuff I guess, but most of the bread and butter stuff just didn't do that much for me this time around. Also, maybe I'm a monster but the airport level didn't really affect me at all, and the "Moonraker" moment wasn't totally outta place like I expected (only saw the launch trailer once, sooo)
Regarding the core gameplay then maybe its because I'm a muppet and I've actually bothered to finish COD4 on Veteran, and therefore experienced the infamous checkpoint gameplay in its most essential form, but with that in mind, I always felt a need to rush through the levels in MW2. I suppose its because I always felt like I was doing it slightly wrong if I was actually having some really long firefights with the AI, since they would just respawn until I popped through the trigger box. Donno if I'm alone on that.
Just had a few rounds of MP and I can definitely see that thats where I'm gonna get the most enjoyment from this title. Not exactly down on it SP, just felt slightly above average, whereas COD4's SP campaign still stands as being absolutely amazing to me.
