IW guy stressing the importance of the way PC multiplayer is traditionally done, the relationship with the hardcore community, the ability to alter the game, and a clear understanding between the community and the game makers, from a video just before the release of COD4.

From what I've heard that guy has in fact left IW and been drawn into the greater Activision organism to work on "Special projects".

Modern Warfare 2 on Steam, if you're in Australia, is $89. Not 89 Australian dollars, which would still be 81 US dollars at the current exchange rate, but 89 US dollars straight out.

.... I'm eager to find out if even one single person in AU buys the game on PC.

I don't know if they still do it, but Stea, used to just convert the £ sign to a £ sign (or whatever you local flavour of currency is). Which meant when I bought CoD4 on Steam it cost £59.99 - no game should be worth that much :S

On Steam it is now 34.99 - that is a pretty decent price considering all the crying about the $60 tag.

Valve don't dictate prices, the publisher does. It's Activision/THQ/etc who decide to price the game with the same number but different currency.

34.99 United Kingdom Pounds = 57.5057 United States Dollars

    That's pretty close I'll say.

    Agreed!

It's 60 euros in France, that's way more than what I consider a reasonable price, but I just love CoD singleplayer so I might get it anyway.

This was an interesting post on the IW forums in relation to the 60% figure that has been thrown around by some spokesmen:

    http://www.private-servers.info/CallOfDuty4.html

    http://www.game-monitor.com/search.php? ... &game=cod4

    Pirated servers:

    Servers - 141

    Max players - 3646

    Legitimate servers:

    Servers - 13245

    Max players - 266326

    Total amount of servers: 141+13245=13386

    Percentage of pirated servers: 141/13386*100=1.05%

    Total amount of players: 3646+266326=269972

    Percentage of pirated players: 3646/269972*100=1.35%

Those screens look pretty damn nice, except for a couple of things I noticed:

    [Blocked Image: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/deathcrush/mw_wtf1.jpg]

    Jesus statue... made of Lego?

    [Blocked Image: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/deathcrush/mw_wtf2.jpg]

A building so blurred that close is not cool, looks like a HL2 skybox prop where they forgot to add LODs to the tower.

    Yeah...
