I think I'm improving. Still got noise in my shots though, even with an iso of 80 and adjusted exposure ¬_¬

You are shoting with a Canon Powershot SX100 IS if I'm (and neither my EXIF Files) not mistaken? I think the camera uses a fairly small chip which will always have a little noise if you're not shooting in absolute top conditions. The noise isn't too distracting anyways so that's not a problem, really

Colors and shapes are great in these pictures but, well it's 5 times the same picture. When showing pictures (well I do foto-presentations so I might be from a "wrong" background here) I look for simmilar pictures and eliminate them down to one or two if they don't offer too much difference to the audience, so that might be something you look into these shots and decide which one is the best.

Aye they are all the same area but I loved the colours so much I included them all

And one thing I've found with this camera, it sucks for taking night shots. I'm either rubbish at night photos or it is just pants for it. I set the correct exposure time and everything and still looked :/

yes but that depends on the chip. You can either shot on CCD or CMOS. CMOS is what an actual proper Digital SLR uses while CCD technique (or 3CCD for little better cams) is a cheaper technique that tends to bloom and noise at longer shutter speeds, due to the way the single pixels are being processed.

Ok this is annoying. Have had some brilliant night skies lately. But I can't get the pictures to do it justice. Am I being a noobler here with wrong mode or settings or is my camera just not good enough for taking pictures of moons and night sky. Here's a picture of what I mean:

As you can see its just a big white blob but it wasn't to look at. You could see all the detail and craters on it from where I was stood. Am I doing something wrong with exposure, etc? I have tried different exposures, but the longer I have the exposure the blurrier the picture is. Ho hum.

Its the moon, its very bright. Why would you take a long exposure of it?

Shoot around f/8 and a shutter speed of 1/250 (or whatever is appropriate) with an ISO of around 200-400 and you should be good.

What I meant is I've tried many exposures, from long to short and it always comes out a white blob. And yeah I'll try what you suggested, cheers.

Moon shooting is especially hard as you will have constant movement within the atmosphere (clouds, dust and stuff) which will blur alot.

    Yeah, its extreme over exposure.

    You're improving

I think your compositions could be improved though. Try to take out boring elements on landscapes shots or, on the contrary, try to catch the whole subject on portraits or suchlike...

For example, the purple sunset/sunrise one, with clouds looking kinda like plane tracks is really cool but the branches are a little bit awkward...

On the last one, it's a little bit pity that the ear is cut off...

Flowers are really hard to take, mostly yellow flowers. If your camera allows you, use a low value of aperture and take the shot the most close to the flower in order to have a good bokeh (kind of intense blur in the background). Here, the bokeh is too much distracting because of a lot of details.

Keep up the good work : )
