    Teaser up

Not totally sure what to make of it, but I still think (and hope!) that QT+WW2 could be one mean combo.

I'm a big WW2 buff and I REALLY do not know what to make of this at all. Is it trying to be cheesy and at the same time a bit off point?

I read the script last year when it was leaked to teh internets. It's an excellent story, not very historically correct though .

The teaser is about as ridiculous as I expect the actual movie to be.

So, this is all "made up", no "based on true events" thingie?

From what I've seen the storyline is only very loosely tied to Inglorious Bastards, and wouldn't really be considered a remake — more of a nod to the inspiration, I think. I have a habit of enjoying Tarantino films so I'm sure this will be no exception.

It's a remake of the original inglorious bastards, which was a cheesy as hell 70ies b-movie (its awesome)

Its not a remake and thats why QT misspeled the title

So, anybody went to see it?

It is, definitely, one of QT's special films. What impressed me the most though is that many scenes could just as well be from an European movie - not because they also speak (real) German, French and some Italian in the movie (they even got Till Schweiger and the guy from Die Fetten Jahre Sind Vorbei), but the pace, some situations the characters are put into could be those of a French movie for example There's nonetheless enough American action and exaggeration (like the last scene where

, still well made though) and some awesome black humour (but not enough imho^^). Despite that I'd give this movie a 5 out of 6, it's still a movie that's totally worth the money (in my case 16 CHF)

I donno, I kinda lost interest in this movie from what I saw in the trailers tbh. But I'll pick it up when comes on Blu-ray, just can't be bothered to go watch it in a cinema tho.

It seems to be getting extremely good reviews. It's got 88% on Rotten Tomatoes which puts it way up there with a lot of classics, and its IMDB score (8.9/10) is pretty meaty too. Not to mention I know several people who went to see it and thought it was amazing.

Overall gist seems to be that it's one of Tarantino's best. Think I'll have to try and make it to the cinema for this one.

I uhm, do not concur with the masses then.

It was an alright movie, but what makes a good tarantino film is the weird humour and the awesome dialogues. This movie had some of that, but its definatly not his best work.

the IMDB score for any decent movie the first couple weeks out the gate is irrelevant anyway. Not sure where people are coming from calling it his masterpiece. Maybe I'm just too much of a pre-Kill Bill fan to understand. Some of the most schizophrenic casting for a movie as well. Tarantino can sure pick his women but not sure who thought it was a good idea to put guys from The Office in there.

    I enjoyed it though.

I agree it was a good flick, but definitly not his best like so many places are raving.
