i made a theme for a presentation i will have to make at uni in a few weeks. it is about IT-Security, Hacking and Buffer-Overflow based attacks. i wanted to stick out with a non standard theme and go all the way for the " cliché". so green old school monitor showing text in green on darker green

    what do you think?

the green is cool, but the monitor encasing it isn't.

the text should be affected by the stripes in the background as well :

for two reasons i can't do that:

    1. the text should still be readable. if there are tiny fonts or lines they might become unreadable

    2. having lines over the font requires that i put an extra layer on top of every slide in my presentation software, because the theme is always the lowest layer.

    thanks for the feedback anyway

    typography doesn't match topic.

if you're trying to put it in "oldschoolesq" theme then do the same for the font. Monospace letters, bitmap representable fonts...

I like the idea but i'm not sure if it will help the presentation because after all you add alot of noise to the displayed informations. also don't like the bevel'd text in the lower part of the screen, just go for something like an old brand sign or add it to the text part as next command line input (kinda like: : |)

    nice idea hessi

the part with your name and ITS on the bottom of the screen looks horrible though. just use a normal font and float it in the lower right corner without any distortions or gizmos.

i agree with not going too abstract with the presentation text. make sure the contrast of text vs background is good enough so its easy to read from a distance even on a bad projector.
