The Senate Gone Mad!!

    Now that the elections are over for some, and we are finally starting to see the future of how our country may to turn. I thought it would be nice to take a look at some of our new elected officials. I think it’s important that the people of America see who they are supporting

    So with that everyday I will bring you some information on one newly elected official

    One of the big names in Washington right now is a newly elected Senator from Oklahoma. Sen. Tom Coburn®. Served as a member of the house for several years and now has made a successful bid for the Senate. Coburn is as what most people would consider "Far Right".

    He believes that there should be a constitutional ban on Abortions and would have no issues paving the way for a new Supreme Court justice who support banning abortions. Voted YES two times in congress for partial birth abortions and Vote YES twice on a law to make it illegal to transport people who are getting abortions... You know sort of like a law that’s says it’s not legal to shoot dear when they are going to and from feeding... HMMM.

    On top of that Coburn Supported 3 separate bills to ban gay adoptions, but also believes that Stem Cell research should be legal, and flag burning should be against the law (which it is not BTW). Also supports and has voted for a constitutional amendment to support School Prayer, by support being bring it back into schools.

    His thoughts on old people and Medicare are right along party lines. He voted NO on Prescription Drug Coverage under Medicare, along with that would like to ban Asst Suicide (which is legal in my state: P)

    My Final Thoughts (not that anyone cares):

    Tom Coburn is my opinion is a right wing nutcase, but in all fairness he seems to slide along party lines and I am sure by his own words he will make an impact in the US senate... Fighting for the abridgement of gay rights, Prescription dugs... along with moving forward with plans to ban abortions bring back school prayer. So to leave you with a quote from the new senator while he was on the campaign trail,

    "Lesbianism is so rampant in some of the schools in southeast Oklahoma that they'll only let one girl go to the bathroom. Now think about it. Think about that issue. How is it that that's happened to us?" --Rep. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.)

    i dont consider myself far-right(as most of these people are), im not a religious person, i got nothing against assisted suicide.. i do however find abortions (excluding rape and incest) wrong... i have nothing really against prayer in school (but i understand that some may find it offenseive, i do not)... im not an informed in any sense on the prescription dugs stuff.. so its hard to make a call.. well..i dont know what else to say but... mmmm hot lesbians eh?.. ill think about that issue for a while

    this is such a non issue.....its like the leader of the football team taking a hot bitch into the mens locker room and fucking her.....sexualll feeeeellllllings will run wild no matter if its guy+guy|girl+guy|girl+girl......im pretty sure lesbianism has been going on longer than the last 3 years, so its not that big of a deal (plus how hot would it be to walk in on 2 hot bitches going at it.....then again.....why would i be walking into the girls bathroom?)

    Good post wacko, very informative. However when it comes to electing officials I see a lot of these "wedge" issues as really non-issues. They don't effect the states in a way that say, taxation, environmental laws, trade tariffs, and medicare do. As for abortion, I am all for the option to exist. It's not like they're forcing them on people, sheesh. I think it should be heavily taxed, but legal. If it's not legal, abortions will still be carried out, only with the possibility of the mother dying as well.

    I am unconfortable with the idea of sanctioned prayer time in schools (the whole seperation of church and state thing) but as a t-shirt once said "As long as there are tests, there will be prayer in school." Seriously though, if people want religion, they can go to a church. They can pray on their own time and heck, that's fine. But school is for learning reading, writing, and arithmatic.

    Assisted suicide I'm all for as well, but again, I think it is a non issue created to merely divide the voting public on religious/secular grounds. How someone should have the power over life/death of another based on their beliefs baffles me. They're not forcing these people to make these decisions, and it's up to them. Sheesh, butt out of their lives.

    Homosexuality - again, a non-issue blown out of proportion to divide the voting public on religious/secular grounds. How does it effect your life if you're not gay? The answer: not at all. So why do you care? Seriously.

    I would like to say that this man is pretty right wing. I think he will have a hard time in the senate and a lot of the republican groups within the senate do not like how right this man is. The leadership fears that he may over extend the party and what they believe in. I guess we will see what happens

    my post was pretty much a joke posty, however the ugy was elected. That means it dont matter what I think, what you think, or what ever. blah its too late I cant htink.
