probably that stupid ati thing if youre going to play hl2 alot

im gonna wait to see if nvidia comes out with something better though because id have to do alot to get nvidia completely off this computer

After getting my first ati card, I would say get a nvidia card.

Just get the latest and most expensive one you can afford....

Also the 9600 doesnt run hl2 that well, valve are LIARS.

I have 9800xt btw, I would prefer an nvidia doohicky.

6800 gt is probably the best overall card for value. its 400$ but you can overclock to ultra speeds easily and it blows away the x800 pro. dont base your decision off 1 game. 6800 gt is overall a better card.

well it runs perfect on my ti4200 so the 6800 will run it more than perfect on full settings

i have 9800pro and im not that happy with it D;~ think i'll be moving back to NV

well apparently zap can run bloodlines maxed out at a stupidly high res on a 6800gt

at 1024-768 and 1280-1024 your not likely to see much if any diffrence between the top cards i would think. just afew frames here and there....anyway what ever you buy it will suck after 2 weeks

my 4200 ran CS:S like a dream wacked in my 9800pro and "£~ R£~$~WD~F~R~£W mass rape! im guessing coz the 4200 does'nt have to deal with dx9 feats.

so far the 6800ultra hasn't had any problems rendering Doom3, FarCry, CS:S at 1280x1024 at max (or nearly max) settings. Mine only supports digital output, but u can use an analog screen fine with a converter.

my office machine is a 6800gt and that has also had no problems and there is really no performance difference that I can detect in game. i used to have a 9800pro in the same machine before the gt, and the upgrade made a big difference in Doom3 at least

im getting the 6800 GT in 2 weeks along wiv a 2000 euro ubermachine that crushes mazys alienware. maybe
