looks like the devs took inspiration from the Black Mesa Mod but were not capable to build it properly.

That dam existed long before Black Mesa Source even existed (HL2 wasn't even released...) - Screenshot from 2001

I think we all forgot about the gameplay and how cool Duke is!

Is no one else a bit at the serious lack of anti aliasing?

To be honest, I'm so used to it this console generation that I hardly even notice anymore; if it's on the PC then it's fairly certain we'll be able to enable anti-aliasing. You do have to wonder why they didn't enable it if these are PC screenshots, though. Maybe they're trying to show that it's in-game and not touched up like most game screenshots nowadays?

I do, however, really look forward to the next generation when presumably all console games will be anti-aliased.

The awesomeness of deferred shading (my guess). Still surprised though... most other developers manage to make highres screenshots and resize these.

I'm still eager for the Duke.

There's more polys in that stripper's butt than the entirety of duke's head and shoulders by the looks of it. :

Which would suggest they've updated to Unreal 3. That would be a pretty shocking move though, not the least because I don't know where 3DR would get the money for the $500,000 license. Their primary income as far as I know is just old games selling on digital distro.

didn't 3dr do Prey and other games as well? doesn't sound like they could not affort an engine after all...

Yeh, and Prey was Doom3 engine!

And if my memory doesn't fail me It was the most expensive engines at the time.

Btw, I loled at the strippers hair! jeez, mipmapping is definitely the texture artists worst nightmare on this gen!

They produced Prey, it was made by Human Head. And that's old enough to count as old, certainly. They haven't done anything since then that really matters (I think a cell phone Duke game or something like that).

They haven't really done anything that was released in studio since Duke 3d.

Why? They stated many times that they rewrote the renderer.
