The bit about whether Communism ever made a good car was really funny too.

hehe epic indeed, to the point of silliness almost

By the way: Is this kind of review typical for Top Gear? Is there an insider gag related to Ford Fiestas that I'm not aware of or do you think they just wanted to go overboard with this one at the end of the year? I'm asking because I got the suspicion that Ford cooperated with them on this ad, on an organizational or financial level, since this kind of review makes for a great viral ad (as you can see)...and to be honest, this wasn't really a "review" now was it?

Some guy wrote to the show asking why they never do 'proper' reviews on Top Gear, so obviously Clarkson thought it would be a good idea to do a tongue-in-cheek review of a 'normal' car.

Pretty much standard for top gear. But they are serious in the sence they talk about pros and cons. But with a light heart. Some times they do really silly stuff to test cars though. One time they where out camping and had to get something to eat, one of the guys went with the car and came back with a cow on the roof. Really silly indeed BUT they tested how much you could load on to the roof so there was a hint of seriousness into it aswell.

they weren't testing the roof...they do skits that are basically for pure humor, and they do reviews/comparisons/track runs, they're all cut up and scattered into segments throughout the show but they're clearly separate.
