hmm, arent this 'new small detail technique' just detail maps? Or maybe detail maps that allow few tilings on one texture.

I like this vid but it seems to have too much camera movement, could've been a lot smoother. Or was this only for commentary purpose.

wow i am pleasantly surprised how honest they are about all this detail missing from the actual game and that its only there in the promotional video

Yeah, just to demonstrate that it's adjustable. The original smooth video is here:

    i just finished it:

+ love the design of the space nazis (don't even have a problem with the glowing red eyes who needs camouflage if you can have intimidation instead huh ?)

+ all around good artwork and production values and production design

    + perfectly fitting soundtrack

    + doesn't have to install !!!

+ loads between level sections are short and almost unnoticeable (feels more like a tiny lag most of the time)

+ last boss fight doesn't switch the game rules upside down it actually requires the skill you have accumulated through out the game to succeed something every game shoudl do and yet hardly any does

+ melleing enemy's feels really satisfying

+ planting bombs and turning wheels with the sixaxis conroller .. .yeah its gimmicky but i like it

+ the ending was okay very unheroic ... and dare i say realistic ?!

    + stylish credit sequence

    + screen buffer based lenseflares

    - i don't find 1940 space germany/france very convincing i don't believe for a second that people life in that world while there isn't war.

    - fov is too small ... 9/10 deaths happen off-screen and make you feel like there was nothing you could have done about it.

    - damage indicator is practically invisible (blends in together with your damage screen mask ... it just doesn't work ... strangely enough the vehicle sections have proper damage indicators D: )

    - vehicle sections .... they are not as horrible as lets say gears of war 2s but still totally uncalled for

    - story sucks balls and is impossible to follow ... the bad guy stole some nukes ? when the fuck did that happen ? )

    - i don't care for any of the characters. they feel like some 0 dimensional gears of war (1 dimensional) wannabes )

    - one really annoying boss fight against a flying robot that can do damage to you when ever he feels like it no matter if there is a 2 meter thick concrete column between you and his exploding rockets or not. i must have died like 50 times there that this bug slipped i can not believe.

-the aiming SUCKS ASS in a post cod4 console shooter world the feel of this aiming is completely unacceptable its never slow /sensitive enough when you want to do a precision shot and never fast enough to turn you aroudn when an enemy melees you from the back ( or the side even ... THANK YOU FOV !)

all in all a solid title 7/10

why would sony ever bring it to pc?

Because then the PC-gamers could buy it for their PC's, and if people buy the game they get money!

Doubtful. For all Sony's flaws, one thing they've always consistently done is fund innovative and/or high-quality games and then keep them exclusive, obviously to try and get people to buy the console (which doesn't really make them any money) and then buy further games of theirs (which does).

But you know \: a game that caters to my playstyle and the art i like doesnt come insanely often and i want to play it while its popular and fresh \: not to mention i guess i got drakes fortune 2 to look forward to. I will wait for assassins creed 2 for pc tho
