i did mean fun as in entertainment. i.e., you should not be bored or frustrated while playing the game and that you have some sort of motivation for playing it.

So i guess "murder simulators" are not in your good tastes then. Sorry but i even considered buying a ps3 for this game, to me thats enough motivation. Not everyone has the same tastes as you Sentura.... I am pretty sure some of the games you like i would say suck...

    Its as simple as that...

I think you might be asking a question nobody can really answer yet, Sentura. The demo is so short nobody can conclusively say they like the game, because we're kind of operating on the assumption that the final game will mix things up and vary the gameplay like any other FPS does — and also that there'll be some semblance of a storyline weaved into it.

Considering that plenty of the aforementioned is shown in this trailer:

    http://www.gametrailers.com/player/42076.html?type=flv

... that testimonials from reviews and players of the final game such as [HP] say this is the case, and that there're mech/vehicle sections and all sorts, it's fair to assume those who find the demo combat enjoyable will probably find the full game enjoyable too. Just like if you enjoy the first 10 minutes of Half-Life 2's combat (ie: the bit after you leave Kleiner's lab) you'll probably enjoy the rest, even though what's in the rest of the game isn't even hinted at in the demo.

The combat in the demo is as fun as I can expect from such a short segment — presumably more so once the option of playing on hard is available — and the game in general has a great theme and backstory just like its predecessor. A combination of my demo experience, the reviews, the gameplay footage, and the WW2/sci-fi hybrid theme makes me more than willing to give it a good go. I suspect this is how a lot of pro-Killzone 2 people feel right now.

Although I have to admit, the trailer and reviews alone kind of tipped the balance for me. I didn't need to play the demo to know I'd give the game a go, even though the demo did cement that somewhat.

i finally got aroudn to playing this becasue of noby noby boy no less !

in order to fill up my wallet with money from my credit card to buy noby i had to make myself another european account and that also enabled me to play the kill zone demo.

    - way too large / slow a download almost 2 gigs

    - after its done downloading it needs to INSTALL ... what wait why ? i just downloaded this to my hard drive not to a bluray writeable ?!

    - default control mapping sucks why would you want aim/ zoom with right thumbstick aim needs to be on l1 !

    - instant gut reaction about the characters ... i don't like those guys !!! especially the disembodied voice who barks orders his accent is so thick with stereo-type that i can hardly understand him. ( thankfully there is subtitles )

    - cover system is pretty useless i don't see any advantage in being STUCK to the wall while crouching behind it .. i thought just crouching behind it like we used to was fine i never had the problem that i accidently walked away from thewlal if i didnt want to ... but the peak out aim shoot makes this the real finger twister (similar to mgs4)

-after 2 rooms the demo ends .... way too short this is not appropriately telling me if i am going to like the full price game or not D:

-than this ball stroking video begins with the classic licensed music that shows people getting killed one after another in an almost ballet like way while the critics jizz drips from their quotes ... sickening ...

    +graphics are great

    +production design is great

    +sound is great

this will be a rental for me ...

Why do you guys insist on this?! I can't imagine myself aiming with the left thumbstick, wtf?!

What game does that by default? Every single dual-analog game I've played on the xbox, ps2, 360, and ps3 has movement on the left and look/aim on the right. There's the "southpaw" option some games include that swaps it, I guess, but that's all I've ever seen. :\

Yeah, I don't understand why bitching about something that has been standard for ages now! I've yet to play a game that used the left thumstick to aim.

Uncharted, MGS4, Resistance 1/2, Call of Dutty's, Far Cry 2, Bioshock, Battlefield: Bad Company (...) just a few titles that use the left thumbstick to move, and right to aim.

I think Warby meant the zooming, because L1 is the shoulder button that games like Call of Duty use to zoom in — not the left stick.

But seeing as you can change the controls between a whole bunch of formats, surely one is OK?

Oh, I see, the "aim" part threw me off (apparently same for HP). So you're saying you don't like right stick click zooming, and prefer left trigger/button held zoom? I can agree with that, though that's sort of 50/50 as to what games end up doing. Hell, some use both - left trigger to aim, right stick to zoom within that aiming.

The Sixaxis/Dualshock 3 is an even weirder shooter controller for me than the PS2 controller with those odd little half-triggers on the bottom... I'm not actually sure whether I'd rather have games use the top bumpers or the bottom "triggers" for things like shooting, aiming.

nothing important should ever be mapped to the thumbstick buttons especially not readying your weapon ( or worse firing) of course left analog should be walking and rigth one looking around and it IS ( if they messed that up angry gamers would have already torched their office ^^ )

Ahh... okay, okay! Yeah man, I agree zooming in pressing the thumbstick down was kinda weird at first!

Played it quite a bit after work with some guys. I definitely had a lot more fun while playing it with others, plus the stuff after the demo actually is pretty awesome (the demo is actually the start of the game, WTF!?!?! wrst evr). I'm about 4 chapters in (levels?), but that was on a work PS3, so I gotta replay it now.

I still doesn't help the fact that there's no aim assists whatsoever, but I've definitely has had some great fire fights so far.

Finished it earlier tonight, pretty good most the through. When I started feeling the game winding down I was kinda disappointed, wanted it to go on for a bit longer, thats always a good sign.

Haven't played that much MP yet, but the few rounds I've tried were pretty good. Its just too bad that the horrible aiming feels even more in-your-face when you're playing against other players, but I guess its fair since everybody's struggling with the same controls

I think in a way, it's bold to forgo aim assist for your game. It's certainly no issue in single player, I'm really digging having to fine tune and be slight with my adjustments to aim.

It's fucking killer so far though. I had some doubts but goddamn.

Finished it just a little while ago. I could easily say it's one of the best shooters I've played without hyperbole. There's no one thing that stands out enough to bring the game down in any significant way. I love most everything about it.

It's one of the few games in a very long time where I've been completely taken aback by what I was playing throughout.
