i think the last one i saw was toy story. mostly they haven't really impressed me at all (i didn't think toy story was that good, it was only good because it was the first of its kind, and then, not even), though wall-e has had an appeal to me for some reason. this one invoked nothing.

Pity you haven't watched them, Sentura. Pixar is mostly respected for its extremely good storytelling rather than its CGI, which is admittedly fantastic too. Pixar films are pretty much the epitome of modern family-friendly films, truly appealing to all ages. When it comes down to pure appeal, they're comparable to all the classic Disney films such as The Lion King — most people love them, and it's hard to actually pick any faults with them whether you like them or not.

Obviously whether or not you like them is down to you, but it's probably worth clarifying that it's the stories and not the graphics that make people fall in love with Pixar. It might be worth you simply taking a leap of faith and taking our word on the fact that if it's a Pixar film it's probably excellent. I don't think they've had one misfire yet with regards to critical and audience reception, with each film having extremely lovable characters.

With all that said, IMO anyone who doesn't like Pixar's films has to be lacking a soul.

i never really rate any movie "bad"; i've never fallen asleep during a movie, and generally get swallowed by the sense of immersion that each movie offers in its respective realm. i've always wondered how people, critics and other, could go out of the cinema either halfway through or when the movie was done "because the movie was bad". it's like wanting to waste time then afterwards saying i want those hours back. i don't get it; if you're supposed to waste time anyway, you might as well sit through the full length of a movie. there's bound to happen at least something that you like or can relate to.

i don't doubt that the movies may be good; i think as far as anything i've explained above, i'd be able to sit through the entire movie(s) without anything nagging me. it's just that there are few movies that really impress me from their trailers. the same thing goes with games, the same thing goes with books, other media, anything basically. if it doesn't "speak" to me, then i can't really care for it. i do realize that asking a trailer to speak to me is like asking whoever is making these movies to deliberately shoot in the dark, instead of focusing on the all lit up ordinary movie-goer. but hey, sometimes they hit, as shocking as it may sound. wall-e would be the example of that, among others.

as for the judgments: maybe i do have a soul, maybe i don't. it was never your place to judge, whichever of those options it may be. i'd be lying if i expected anything else from you people, though.

Hah, I wasn't saying you don't have a soul. I was (somewhat in jest) referring to people who actively dislike Pixar's films — you haven't seen them so you don't know if you like them or not.
