I don't know probably not many mapcores are really interested in this, but i thought for those that are. I know a few of you play the game, don't know how fanboy you are though but here you can check out if a store cloose to you open their gates at 00:01 13th November.

As i understand not all those stores will have Blizzard employee to sign stuff though.

At six special midnight launch events across Europe, Blizzard Entertainment developers and executives will be on hand to celebrate the arrival of the expansion with players and sign copies of the game. In Berlin, Germany, the Media Markt will open their doors at midnight (all times are local). In London, UK, the HMV on Oxford Street will do the same. If you’re in Madrid, Spain you can attend the midnight opening festivities at the GAME store at Principe Pio Commercial Centre. For those in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Media Markt will be opening its doors at midnight. In Stockholm, Sweden, Webhallen will be welcoming players and in Paris, France, you can choose to support the Alliance and head to FNAC or the Horde by attending the midnight opening at Virgin.

But maybe they sell limited Collector's Edition, which contains The Art of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King hardback book; Frosty, an exclusive in-game frost wyrm pet; a behind-the-scenes DVD; the official soundtrack containing 21 tracks; an exclusive mouse pad displaying a map of the newly opened continent of Northrend; and two World of Warcraft Trading Card Game starter decks with two exclusive cards available only in the Collector's Edition. Of this i am unsure and didn't find any informayion about though.

But if you are in doubt about if a store close to you have night open, just follow the link and find out. Gl!

[edit] I actually was thinking about going in to town with camera and take some shots from a night open store, as i understand it tends to be a party for many people with dresses and what not. [/edit]

The local Gamestop here is holding a midnight sale, but you can only get it if you have booked it and prepaid it. I havn't done the latter yet, but will this afternoon, so one can just go down there and pick up the copy at midnight, and it's just a 5 minute walk

I booked my copy over a month ago. Got to be out in good time if you want a CE on release day

To bad that i don't live close to any city that will have blizzard employees visiting the store.

uh.......given how many MMO related consulting projects I've done and am still working on, I kind of feel obligated to keep aware of what's going on in the biggest one out there...so yes I'm getting the freakin' expansion pack and yes I pre-ordered it but it's more of a business expense.

Am I going to walk over to Best Buy (dangerously 10 minutes on foot from my house) for the midnight release?

To answer, I quote the Major of Imaginationland: "FUCK NO!"

Yeah the grind is just soooooooooooooooo uninteresting. Doing a raid with 10 or more people trying to coordinate taking down bosses and big groups of mobs can be a lot of fun sometimes and it's a different take on co-op multiplayer than in shooter games. But having to grind so much just to get into the raid in the first place really has no appeal to me anymore.

But, the long grind is how they make the monies..

So... uh, quick question. Does the two expansions mean that someone looking to get into WoW will have to plunk down a $80 to buy WoW + Burning Crusade + WotLK now, plus subscription fees? Over time for subscribers I'd imagine it's no big thing, but for a potential new customer...

I recently played through about half a trial (got distracted by other games and abandoned it ) and played as a Hunter Dwarf Engineer, and this time actually had loads of fun with it, and could probably be convinced to pony up for a copy and subscription. But $80 + sub is a bit much...

No not really, you could go WoW vanilla, and just play in Azeroth until level 60. The thing i like about WoW is that is allways my choice, sure i got get out all the way and level to 70, but if i really want that i have to buy Burning Crusade.

But i don't have to really, i could just if i chose just play to lvl 60 in Azeroth and experience all the wounders there. Now i bought Burning Crusade, it opened a whole new place for me, a lot of different monsters i didnt know about before, new ways to make gold, etc etc etc, there was a lot of new things for me to discover with TBC.

So to conclude if thats even a word, wrap it all up might fit better. Buy WoW, if you like it and you reach like 58-60 you could go on to TBC (Burning Crusade, The really but wtf) then if you level you character to 70 and still like it, go ahead and buy WotLK. But to answer like surgent precision, You have to buy WoW, pay a fee, for me it is

But it isn't worth that much IRL money.
