Ah... yeah, don't we all love EA?

I love it even more after reading this...

Being banned from Electronic Arts' support forums will also ban the serial key of the game you bought, since the forum account will be directly tied to your Master EA Account!! ROTFLMAO!!!!!!

    http://kotaku.com/5070957/backtalk-in-e ... your-games

And then, they complaint about piracy?

"Your forum account will be directly tied to your Master EA Account, so if we ban you on the forums, you would be banned from the game as well since the login process is the same. And you'd actually be banned from your other EA games as well since its all tied to your account. So if you have SPORE and Red Alert 3 and you get yourself banned on our forums or in-game, well, your SPORE account would be banned to. It's all one in the same, so I strongly recommend people play nice and act mature."

Can they even do this? Where is the MapCore law expert when you need him?!?

Cooper & Norman to the rescue!

You don't even own your games these days thanks to EA, Starforce & co.

They can't be allowed to do this? Just when EA where changeing for the good. I would think its not that hard to get a ban from the EA forums too.

They've definately stepped over the line here However the chances are it's a load of crap, as the rules for being "banned" have not been specified. You can be banned and removed from MMO games you've already paid for if you break the rules, I don't see it being much different if the reasons are justified.

I dont believe it for a minute, if this comes from some EA forum admin i'd basically ignore the whole thing. This isnt the first time i've heard someone talk out of there arse like this.

Indeed. Not to mention the EA forums would be the last place on Earth I'd look for "support".

I bet EA forums are like a huge EOT with a million nexus clones posting random stuff.

On the subject of not being able to play your games anymore if you get banned from the EA forums: apparently this is all a huuuge misunderstanding and completely untrue:

    http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55656

EA really needs to get their moderators under control. How about starting in that department for layoffs?

indeed! I really wish people would stop jumping the gun and grabbing there pitchforks everytime the word EA is uttered. As for the layoffs, it's natural in this industry that projects are cancelled and people have to be let go. Doesnt mean EA are evil it's just common sense.

i could go to lengths to elaborate why people are laid off and so on, apart from just being regular market strategy, but i won't. EA aren't evil, but you can't make a garden without weeding it out now and again. so 600 people got fired. so what? it doesn't mean that those 600 people died; they'll find work again. my curiousity lies in that i see you people having the same emotions for 600 people laid off as for 600 people that died. in the end, neither case matters. this doesn't mean i am a cold, calculated bastard, but look at it my way: if we're all reduced to nothing in a million years, why not just live life to the fullest right now?

    carpe diem, motherfuckers.
