I'm very interested in seeing what they're doing with it. My initial feelings are that its a pretty dumb idea, and that they will only water out a great game. But who knows, might turn out even better than the first one.

Hmmm yeah, definitely more of the same. The big with the windows that break was pretty cool [/spoiler rofl!], but as for the gameplay stuff then it does look kinda dull.

I always felt that Bioshock's greatest strength was the atmosphere, the mystery and sort of unexplored nature of Rapture, not its actual gameplay. And although I'm sure they'll be doing all kinds of new locations and stuff to spice it up then I really doubt that they can capture that feeling of mystery again.

I'm a bit disappointed, it looks a bit too Bioshock 1.5 to me: same UI, same plasmid system, etc.

However visuals are still a blast, and that underwater scene is really gorgeous. The fights seem to be faster than Bioshock ones too.

I'll definitely give it a try.

I was hoping they might do a prequel at one point because I was always intriqued as to what the city looked like before it all went to hell. Looks, ok, more of the same, but then I dont mind that so much with Bioshock

Ooo you play as a proper big daddy this time unlike the rushed half baked one in the original hehe. I am psyched for this, I god damn love bioshock. More of the same is good for me. At least it's really good more of the same.

It does seem startlingly familiar. But then, maybe they're doing a Metal Gear Solid on us and there'll actually be wildly different areas later on.

Or maybe they'll just bleed Rapture until it's completely dry, with each of the four planned sequels simply being in a different area.

I found killzone to be 5x better than bioshock. But then again im not big on the whole "horror" corridor shooter thing like doom \:

Not to mention Killzone2 has multiplayer

I bought bioshock and was seriously disappointed with it :{ . I got bored 2 hours in and dropped it.

Tbh i think mood comes into play with games.... I naturally go toward these war epics more so than horror games because thats my taste \: i think the mood/style really effects the gameplay....

Pretty much sums up my BioShock experience.

I was enjoying it, but at a certain point I realised it was just underwater room after underwater room full of Splicers, turrets, or Big Daddies, and it just started to bore me. I never did see the fuss about its gameplay — I know you could mix things up a lot by using your various abilities and tools, but I just couldn't be bothered coming up with superfluously elaborate ways of doing things.

The artistic direction and atmosphere was remarkable, though. Until I got bored it was the best game ever.

Reminds me of my experience with Doom 3 actually, come to think of it.
