Yeah, that's exactly it.

I hope those boxes come to India and quick! It's a lot cheaper thanks to Valve's special pricing for this region
Orange box was $25 -

Quote from Jetsetlemming
How late did they show up on shelves? Because that's how much it is in stores here, now

consider that india's economy is in worse shape than the US'. i've seen countries where i can get things at half price of what i get back home (the US being one of them, japan another) and then you have the expensive countries like the one i live in, where you have to pay $70 upwards for a new game (70 for a PC game, 95 for a console game).

On the fence as to whether to buy it. From the demo it feels pretty average, the repetition in particular being a factor.
I think it could be pretty great to make a level for though so I may end up being it for that reason alone.
-
well, xbox magazine just rated it 9.5/10 (compare: Far Cry 2 8, Dead Space 6.5)...
-
Dead Space 6.5?! Damn...
I loved that game, I gues It's not fair!Sorry for the off topic!

Wonder how long Valve will support it for decently before getting on to their next big game, presumably Ep3? TF2 suffered in the wake of L4D and will do till next year, all their other games (and sdk updates

) suffered in the TF2 dev phase. They keep hiring people, yet seem to put them all on one project rather than having a few side by side!I'll certainly be giving the demo a go, but from everyone's screenshots I've seen, it really just does look like a HL2 mod (which I guess ultimately it is)
-
It's far from being a HL2 Mod. Actually the difference between L4D and HL2 is far bigger than the difference between TF2 and DoD:S.
Valve is going to support L4D for a long time technically. Contentwise I think it's going to be the usual one to two years they are giving content deliveries.
The TF2 Support is not dead btw. It's just on hold to crunch L4D to release and the team is most likely back on TF2 by now.

Demo for the masses tomorrow, go go friends-only games :E

I've played the demo for 20 hours since it was released to pre ordering customers. Now I don't know about you guys, but that's the very best re playability value I've ever seen in a demo. Hands down. I keep going back to it with some friends and we spend hours on end on just two maps. I think it's a brilliant game already, and the rest of the content will easily push it above 9/10 for me.

There's very little HL2 feel here. Character models are unbelievable, animations are superb, physics are cinematic and the levels seem more interactive overall. Although you'll still spot an old prop here and there, they've really tightened up the graphics. AI's eerily lifelike too, I spectated a single player game once and every few steps someone would turn around to check for zombies.
Anyone gotten a kill playing as infected yet? You die. Really easily. And there's no respawn.

Does anyone actually know at what time the demo becomes available today for us normies?
