StarCraft II to be Split into 3 Separate Games

I would certainly boycott bs like this if i would care about the game. It's too obvious whats going on here.
-
... the fuck?
I'll be playing RA3 anyway.
-
Haha they fuck diablo fans then they starcraft fans. Love it.

Here is a short interview with the lead producer about this which confuses me even more:

This still sounds a whole lot to me like a split: 3 campaigns, 3 full price games. Not very expansion'esque! I will wait with a final judgement until more information is available, but maybe they should have cut down on their own expectations for the game this time around...then again Blizzard's trackrecord is undeniably excellent and this way we will get a better experience albeit more expensive.

I love the first comment of that article.

Unless they are 9.99 each you can die in a fire

Don't post funny pics, HP will cryface at you.

I'm reminded of Pokemon.
I wonder how multiplayer's gonna work?
Anyways, I don't really mind it if the campaigns as as big and full as Blizzard claims. Otherwise Starcraft 3'd be a 30 GB Install!

while ive always known why blizzard hate exists, i fail to see why this is only surfacing now. i fucking called it before they launched world of warcraft.

This is madness! Or a more episodic release structure.

If the games are accordinly priced for the gameplay time then no problem. I'd rather see SC2 in the next six months than wait ages.

He said they are doing it this way to avoid a delay due to the single player campaign, so unlike Pokemon they will be sequentially released. He also says in the article multiplayer will be feature complete.
All this really means is Starcraft 2 will have two expansions instead of the trademark one and you won’t be able to play single player from all the races perspectives at the start, (but this is offset by each campaign being “epic”). So there's no actual reason to rage here unless they charge full price for them, but the article is not clear whether they are retail games or expansions the quality of retail games (which Blizzard expansions usually are).

If it's not 1 game at the price of 3... why not

QuoteBlizzard added that the plans for the multiplayer component are unchanged by the splitting of the campaigns. However, some units will now be unique to the campaigns and will not be playable in multiplayer.
Wow, great. They're just copying Valve - the bad way. I hope that the single campaigns are long as fuck though. Blizz can go shove it up their asses otherwise.
-
If it means that SC2 will come out faster then I'm fine with this.
It does sound pretty wonky tho, I mean they'll have to have all the races in there for the MP, done essentially in the first release, so all they're gonna be doing are extra single player missions

-
They might add some special units for the 2nd and 3rd game? But you can only use them in MP if you own them? I hope not but I'm sure most people will buy all 3, unless they suck, which is about as likely as james bond doing the washing-up in the new film.
-
Just a bit weird. Will the engine/features/GUI/whatever change between them too? Or will they all be patched simultaneously as if all one release?
