Not only is it set in (at least starts in) futuristic Detroit, the main character goes through a kind of cyber transformation. So it's just a re-imagination of Robocop.IT'S FREAKIN ROBOCOP?
No seriously, so far...thumbs up!!! I skipped Invisible War but I'm glad I picked up H.R. tonight. Game has a few issues but overall it's great. I loved the Final Fantaxy XXVII poster in Pritchard's office early in the game.
there's actually a part at the precinct where they joke about it

I killed the first boss with about a clip and a half of combat rifle headshots. Took like 15 seconds, I was very surprised when he died so fast. I haven't put a single point into any combat skills, but I still carry guns around with me... I'm not really sure what points you COULD spend to make that boss fight go better except maybe cloak or something for moving from cover to cover. The typhoon seems to be more about having a big AoE rather than being singularly powerful.
edit: If you aren't carrying guns and ammo how are you using your inventory spaces then? Hording every single candy bar in detroit?

Still not that far into it (such is life with a kid) but since I'm playing it with a stealth emphasis, it is filling the gaping hole Splinter Cell left in my heart.
If you are this far into this thread and:
A) ...you really really like RPGs and stealth games (and even shooter-ish RPGs like Mass Effect 2)...
B) ...and you have not already picked up this game then...
WTF are you waiting for?
(btw...if you haven't gotten it yet and are about to on console, install it to your HD so you speed up the load times!)

I didn't notice a difference on bosses between normal and hard, but perhaps I was just better.
The room is full of gas cannisters and explosive barrels and you need to throw like 5 of these for him to die. And all the boss arenas have weapons in them or just before.
You should invest in the explosive rounds upgrade and a revolver, it' sold by the merchant in detroit though I can't remember when he stocks it. Just keep all the revolver ammo you find and you're golden.

I know for a fact that he stocks explosive rounds

Heh, never even fired the revolver once (Or the pistol or shotgun for that matter). Kept strictly to the automatic weapons, which I pretty much only used for the boss fights. Second time through I'm gonna grab and upgrade the revolver based on what you're saying, also fills out less slots than an assault rifle + SMG.
Also regarding boss fights, was only really the second boss that I had trouble with,

I nailed the second boss fight, I loved the design
Quoteand just avoided the water after getting owned from it once
I just used wall vision with heavy rifle - for some reason I had like 500 rounds of ammo for it heheI'm with Mino on the stealth stuff, basically I start every encounter stealth then usually after about killing 2-3 guys quietly the fight kicks off after im detected, then i say what a shame and blow their faces off with a shotgun

I tried to explain to some colleagues that this was a very enjoyable way of playing when they were bitching about stealthing in the game and how they kept having to reload.

Also just upgrade to the EMP augment so the electric doesn't bother you, this also makes the last boss ridiculously easy

i didn't have any armor back then, so i took a shitload of damage every time i did that. suffice to say, it didn't work
just finished, clocked in around 24 hours on hard difficulty, explored most of what i could, did a large part of the sidequests and most objectives with ghost/smooth operator. i was actually a bit sad that the game wasn't longer, it seemed like too many things were cliffhangers by the end. apart from the bossfights, i enjoyed the game immensely - more so than i did with the original deus ex (but then, i didn't actually play that until last year). i'm hoping this game will sell well, so that we may get more of these types of games out there, and not just cookie cutter rpg bullshit (see: dragon age/mass effect).
Quotealso, how could you get to malik's side quest?
