Despite what they say it's very unlikely it's gonna be more like the first, it makes no sense considering the direction of the industry nor the direction SE has taken. And even if it was, I doubt it would satisfly the cult of deus ex. But I'll be happy if it is like the second, as that was still a very good game, much more engaging then most games that came out the same year.
glad you like the trailer =D~ more to come soooooonnnn
Just read this article on Kotaku about the art direction: http://kotaku.com/5491544/how-deus-ex-3 ... s-disaster
The game's looking very nice art-wise!

So Montreal then?!
Probably just proof of concept for the futuristic setting, it is easier for the concept artist to go from ref/photo and paintover. That's what Thierry Doizon was saying at a concept art conference at MIGS, gotta make quality concepts the fastest way possible...so paintovers of photos, geometry, etc are a must he said.

When I read in that ign interview that the game starts in Detroit I laughed pretty hard. Is there no end to the Robocop similarities? Will Jensen have an ex-wife he stalks because he still loves her but she rejects his now machine nature? Will the main bad guy be that guy from That 70's Show and say "Bitches, Leave" at some point in the game? Will a Milbot shoot up an executive boardroom in the game's climax? Will there be a subplot about the company who designed/installed Jensen's robo-bits wanting to pave over the Detroit slums for high class development?
Deus Ex 3: "I'd buy that for a dollar!"
"bitches, leave." is one of the finest lines of dialogue ever spoken in a motion picture. "Can you fly, Bobby?" is also up there ![]()
"Just give me my fuckin' phone call"
Clarence Boddicker rules! One of the best villains ever!
Worried that I was getting too enthusiastic about Deus Ex 3 after yesterday, I looked at some info on the game some more and found again that it has regenerating health. That did the trick.
yeah! ![]()
DX1 had health regen as well, well.. kinda. You can install it as a augmentation further down the game. it's a bit different i know, since you exchange a bit of bio-electric energy when you use augs.
And you also had the medbots, food, drinks and health packs. And you can heal separate parts of your body as well.
Man... Dx1 is such a great game, lol.
I really couldn't get into Deus Ex :s
It's just too dated now, I really didn't enjoy it.

Yeah, healing was so cheap and available that the only times you died in Deus Ex were the same situations you'd die in if you had infinite regen, but having the health model made for really interesting stuff and tension in fights. I find seeing my head and torso icons on my HUD turn red and signifying I need to quickly use a medkit to be a whole lot more tense, not to mention playable and not super annoying, compared to my entire screen fading red and signifying I need to take a time out now. It's not even like Deus Ex's health system is super archaic and you couldn't get away with it in modern games, seeing as Fallout 3 used it almost exactly, except with an overall HP count on top of the body part health, and I don't recall anyone complaining about that. Stimpacks were cheap and widely available and you could heal up easily by drinking from sinks, but having limb wounds and not having that "time out" mechanic to heal made things feel a whole lot more tense and exciting when you were in a hard fight.
"You're not playing at all properly, go sit behind that box and think about what you've done."
I'm gonna pick Dx1 up on steam, this has made me want another play through
.

i hear you brother graphics and controls where pretty awful even back than but the whole " meta design of the game" was/is absolutly mindblowing !
id kill for having a game with that design with modern day "standardized" controls and current gen graphics !!!
/me excited !
