Deus Ex 3

Didn't DX1 go into 3rd person when you had cutscenes with people throughout the whole game?
-
I'd argue there's a big difference between a very simple dialogue sequence and a prolonged cut scene with the camera flying all over the place.
Deus Ex has an opening and an ending. And maybe some helicopter loading sequences if you wanna get picky.

So I guess you must've just HATED Riddick going into third person for platforming and using healing devices, huh.

No, because I've never played it. I understand the need to go into first person for what it was doing. More to the point it seems you don't understand the need to when to change it and when to not.

And Deus Ex 3 uses third person to let the player peak out from behind cover while sneaking, whats your point.

You should play it, it's a fantastic game.
You're still not making any appreciable argument against the minimal use of third person for special actions.

I've already made it earlier I'm done making my point.

Riddick's third person cuts to climbing over boxes and railings are lame. Deus Ex's dialogue sequences are not. It's pretty simple.
There's a difference between seeing your avatar during a tame dialogue sequence and being whipped out of perspective in the midst of the action. Just take a look at Mirrors Edge. I can only imagine how much more interesting Riddick could have been had it stuck with one perspective.
Also, I'm not rallying against DX3 or anything, just arguing some of these points. I actually don't mind this stuff for the most part, but it's good to be mindful of the genre you're doing it in. For a tactical/action shooter like Vegas, it was fine, for DX, it's a different story.

Here is a link to a collection of images from the magazines, in case some of you missed it.

a french article here:

BTW I just want to point out that there are more magazines coming out in the next few days and in the coming weeks with their articles on the game. It's also important to understand that Eidos doesn't write those articles but the magazines do...and well, sometimes they interpret things their own way and things get blown out of proportion and people jump to conclusions so if you have a specific question you'd like to ask, you can PM me or post it here and I will try to answer it here if I can.

They needed to sit down and decided? LIKE IT WAS HARD? Let's see, shall we emulate the first one which pioneered non linear gameplay or emulate the second one which will be forever remembered as a console port disaster. Damn.

Cool teaser, although I kinda hate these teasers that are a snippet of a full trailer. Just release the damn full trailer
. But I'm filled with a mixture of hype and scepticism about this one, but mainly hype
Plus with Luka on board, how can it fail~~

FUCK YEAH that trailer is awsome !
havent played a good cyberpunk game since shadow run on the snes ! its about time for cyberpunk to come back with a splash
( you guys better deliver ! )

You could tell that trailer was made by the Final Fantasy CGI dudes pretty easily,

But still, cool aug design. This line in particular in the article, "we are returning to an inventory system reminiscent of the first game", makes me pretty happy. We don't get nearly enough games that let you carry around a customizable arsenal. In DX1 I tended to roll with a laser sword, a GEP gun, a sawed off shotgun, a wrist mounted crossbow, and a sniper rifle, and that was only like a third of the weapons in the game.
Also, as an aside, man IGN is unprofessional as always. That question about why DX3's a prequel should've been edited, or replaced. Surely somebody not a douchebag asked something along those lines. Although, in response to the response, there's all that time between DX1 and 2 where a game could fit. I've always wanted to see Deus Ex's world immediately after DX1 ended, assuming DX2's setup of all three endings in their own way occuring. That'd be some pretty heavy shit.

I just read the whole Q&A article, awesome awesome awesome stuff! I am really happy with it. It actually sounds like they understand what DeusEx1 really is and what DeusEx3 should be.
So yeah, as a self claimed hadcore DeusEx1 fan, I'm hyped for this and with relatively high hopes.

Oh man I'm looking forward to this even more now, exciting trailer and some great news.
