Good interview worth reading:

We bought the components, which were back then like $700, and built a PC, and that was the platform we used for all presentations, milestones, new features, everything had to run on that machine as a benchmark. Because we have in the editor, all kinds of smart things which tell you that you've exceeded the budget, but the problem with designers and artists is that they don't care. [laughs]
oh, but of course, go blame on the artists now!

Picked it up, played for an hour or so. Seems to run worse than the original on about the same settings, which kinda struck me as odd considering all this optimization talk (does changing the low-med-high settings to mainstream-gamer-enthusiast count as optimization?) though the lighting in some of the first couple areas does look better than the original. The second rainy mission feels wet everywhere, very cool.
Auto weapon pick ups straight up suck, give me back manual pick up. Seriously.
Also, what the fuck is with this Gamespy shit? I though their relevancy had long since expired. Creating login accounts is goddamn annoying, PC games have to quit this shit.
-
Gamespy? Ugh I can't stand that thing! It's still crysis so I'll pick it up when I gots me some spare monies.
-
Ah shit...

Seriously? That's still an active service? I haven't heard a thing about Gamespy since before HL2's release, seriously. Ages.

Just bought it. Now just finding time to play.
-
I liked the auto pickup ammo
I didn't check in the options (played at crytek) is there an option to enable/disable? -

Crysis Warhead Copy Protection F.A.Q. and DRM shit
Btw, a new crysis community has opened, it's called... well... MyCrysis!

-
Pretty much identical DRM to Spore, then.

Everyone gonna boycott this one too?
-
God damnit I thought this didn't have it
-
Well, not identical to spore, as far as I can tell you only need to validate online once to be able to play the game?
This means you wont need to have the original DVD on the drive to play the game.
OT: I heard they removed that DRM shit from spore, truth or mith?
-
You only have to validate Spore once to play the game; the 10-day reactivation thing was removed before the game came out. After this you can play without the disc in the drive.
It's also been revealed through testing that Spore actually allows five activations, and that reinstalling on the same computer does not count as an activation.
So yeah, exactly the same stuff.

-
I wouldn't get the same DRM as spore. suicide.
-
Does Warhead come with the Sandbox editor?
-
"This gives you the opportunity to install the game as many times as you want on five different machines."
Does this mean you can get an activation back by uninstalling?
Yep, further down:
QuoteThis system allows you to authenticate your game on five computers with the purchase of one disc – you can install your copy on each machine as many times as you want. If you go over five machines, EA Customer Service is on hand to supply any additional authorizations that are warranted.
So yeah. I'm cool with this. In Spore you get 5 installations, period, and after that the game's worthless.
