I'd love to see Warcraft 3 and WoW as a CG Movie. These cutscenes are always so damn great...

It won the more amusing contest, though. Blizzard won the more serious contest.

So far Blizzard is definitely in lead of the life wrecking contest.

Oh and nice movie, my favourite one is still the intro to Diablo II, can't wait to see the Diablo 3 cinematics

While I liked this cinematic, as with all Blizzard cinematics, it had me wanting to see more about the new areas / abilities etc in the expansion, but that's asking a bit much I suppose. I'm sure WotLK will have a huge launch and I might be back to doing more "MMO research" in Northrend

i dont think you can compare the trailers. one was made in mind with showing off as much content as possible while the other was made with hiding the same content in suspense. there are good and bad parts in both of them. i liked the action in the warhammer one, albeit it seemed a bit random at times. i liked the unveiling of the monster in the wow one, but it was boring to sit through. also, it had the BLIZZARD PRESENTS in the middle of the trailer. it makes my blood boil whenever i see companies put that in trailers, movies or games.

I think it's fair to say that's some absolutely fantastic CGI and atmosphere.

Then you get the real thing and it's all...

The game is getting some facelifts in the expansion though, dynamic shadows being most noticable.

Shadows got working again in the latest beta build, any shadow-quality above 4 can crash the game (ranges up to 6), as 5-6 is reserved for development.

yeah it looks absolutely fantastic, i bet crysis could not match that.

(note: this was not to offend anyone, but honestly it gets tiresome that a product like world of warcraft gets praise for absolute bullshit. maybe next time let's praise goldsource for its outstanding graphics in comparison to everything else.)

Absolute bullshit as in given great gameplay, one can forgive the lack of cutting edge visuals? Heh...

That's something I've always found odd about Blizzard's games in the last few years, the disparity between the in game atmosphere and the cinematics. Guess it's sort of a result of the direction the art has taken
