It's got pretty obvious seams due to the fact your tiles are oddly shaped yet all "fit" to the edges of the texture. You should maybe try having some run over an edge and in the other side?

    I'll try that

I think i undestand the idea you want there. It's nice so far. But I think it suffers from the same "disease" as a lot of other textures with seams like that. It's like the seams and plates are not the same texture. IMO they need to "interact" with each other more. The seams are dirt, then some dirt should get up on the edges of the tiles etc. Don't know if that was unclear enough

That was very clear, i'll try that one too. Good advices, both of them. Let's see what i can do.

EDIT: Did this in 10mins before i go to sleep, dunno if it's what you were expecting but i think that kinda dirt fits there anyway.. maybe some pieces of broken stone/wood or something would be neat (or not). Now i need some sleep.

Heh, alright. Thanks for the comments, btw.

Anyway, I've just completed two more. The first is a rippled sand, and the second is grass (if you couldn't already tell). I think I may have over-did the gloomy effect. Reminds me of Brothers in Arms, personally. Anyway, onto the textures...

Still going on with this, better/worse now? Made plates more random shaped and also added some grass/moss and made it to tile better (which still needs some work).

nice sofar, i would reduce the contrast abit, and remove some of the grain. also it seems it can use abit more of that moss,

the dirt and the shadwos in between the tiles is 2 dark i would go for something lighter to reduce the feeling theres huge gabs between the tiles

unless thats the style you wanna go for

to add to what IR said,

I think the tiles are too flat and even...as if they were all on the same level. You should have some covered up by dirt in a few spots and make it look like the stones are placed INSIDE the soil and not just hovering above it (thats what it looks like right now)... also, as already mentioned, it's too noisy and too contrasty.

    Good first attempt though

    yes definitely an improvement.

I'd try to still paint over some stuff on the edges making them both not so straight and a bit smoother.

the stones need to have some differation between theml, slight color and some brightness differnece. also the cracks could use some pebbles or broken stone fragments

I think i've come pretty close to finish my first texture. I'm getting tired to work with this one and i'll move to the next one soon. Last time asking for suggestions this time, then i'm done with it!

Hope i didn't go too far with all the changes.
