totally random texture thread

    Looks good for your first weapon texture. But overall it doesnt mix well. The grip is crisp and very contrasting compared to the bland looking metal. Plus the slide doesnt differ from the frame at all. http://www.sourceblog.org has some decent weapon skinning tutorials to get you off on the right start

    Well it's quite decent, but you got some really noticeable artefacts when it tiles all over your texture :/

    We should add a new moto to this thread : Double post your tiling textures

    those two don't tile well either, there's really big noticeable artifacts like unique bricks, colors separation. You have to make these more uniform jaboo i think

    still pretty big wips KoKo5oVaR but thanks for the crits!! Im not the best when it comes to brick :] clayman has been critting them very decent i will post the edits when i get them done. Should be cool! I hope i can get some ingame shots too.

    The transition is too subtle imho. You don't need to listen to me though

    Wow, dux made something

    Ok, the texture isn't bad for a first try but there's some things to improve on:

    1) It looks a bit too photo-based, I'm not really that bothered about phototextures providing they're done to look ok, but at the moment it just looks like you've copy and pasted a few photos and slotted them together with mixed results.

    2) The red circles indicate areas that look a bit odd, like the blending is badly done and looks fake, especially the horrid 'bend' on the right side of the trim and the unsubtle blur on the white brick on the right.

    3) The green circles show areas that cause obvious repetition in the tiling, removing these areas will make the texture tile better.

    Good stuff, keep at it

    Black/white/beige looks better imho... Looks like a Metroid-PN03 mix. Nice!
