Sweet stuff Pomperi. How much handpainting was involved in the second texture? I ask because you once said you handpaint most of your textures.

Yeah, you're right, I usually handpaint my textures, but this one is an exception. The other two on the other hand are mostly done by hand, which is pretty obvious, but I guess that's why you asked

Indeed, that's the reason I asked. Would be hell of a task to paint this.

Can you show us the normalmaps aswell? (if you made some)

Calling upon my vast wealth of inexperience, I'd say that's looking pretty good Meotwister. The moss looks convincing to me. What's that shot taken in? It's difficult to see the texture of the bricks.

Pomperi: Wish I could provide some CC as useful as yours but all I can say is damn that look nice. I'm actually aiming for only very moderate weathering and after reading your comment and looking at my WIP again I realise it's completely inappropriate. It's for a relatively clean city map. In my head I guess I thought pollution would contribute most to the weathering but considering it's not industrial I think desaturation of colour maybe with some moderately crackled paint, as you suggested, would be a good start.

Just a simple render in max. I suppose I could make the bricks stand out more.

I like the grass/dirt one but the gravely one isnt as convincing. Perhaps downplay the gravel and make the dirt/sand more obvious?

    lookin good though.

Decided to try something different tonight and skin a head model I found at polycount. The helmet looks rather uninspiring but I'm too tired to work on it now. This is my first hand painted organic texture ever, so take it easy! (I also don't have a wacom, I'm kind of limited here)

i think it is decent for a first try. somehow her lips make me think "got milk". they are too white. another thing is that the nose is kind of floating into the cheeks. so adding a darker outline would really help.

the rest is ok from my point of view. i am not a big fang of scifi suits
