Some weird thing I threw together sometime.[Blocked Image: http://www.philipk.net/other/strange_wall.jpg]

Did you paint the normal map for this?

    Looks great

Lol thanks. It really doesn't deserve that tho The normal map is so sloppily made. But just fun to not make the old standard shit all the time I do :\

I made the normal map in Zbrush btw Phobos. But I spent too little time on it really

Noticed it actually tiled better than I thought tbh.

Warhammer, really?Looks more like something out of Unreal2007 to me

Agreed. Like the red-armored guy in the one shot.

Gotta say, I love it. Would be really interested to see what an entire set built off this sort of idea would end up looking like... seems like you could do some awesome stylized shit with it. I know I haven't delivered on the one I promised already (yet!), but make a Q4 set out of this and I'll make a map with it

    hehe

Well I've had some vague crazy ideas in my head (Something much, much cooler than this) for a new set. It would be based on heavily self illuminated textures as well as getting part organic feeling into them. I think I'd need to sketch some stuff down on paper really.

Well I guess maybe it is just a nicely done paneled wall texture, but I do think that the unorthodox, off-centre, overlapping circles cut is a pretty cool detail that sets it apart. As the squirrel says, a set like this could be pretty special.

Id love to see a ctf texture set from philipk.

Actually pk01 is already suited to that he just needs to make a team-colored version (hint, hint, wink, wink)

Thats really nice phil! What's your process? Do you just mess around with some colors and then import it to the zbrush and refine stuff later?

Well this is how I did it for this: max -> zbr -> max (export normal), create diffuse and then specular. Of course the normal can be edited some in ps too. Personally I would have done the stones a lot sharper but it just takes too long Could have done them in a lot of other ways too (i.e. model in max instantly) and this way it got quite a nice wastelandish feeling imo so i decided to keep it as it is.
