totally random texture thread

I attempted something a bit different... cooled lava. It turned out better than I thought it would. Just an experiment though; I was trying out some new methods. Renders with normal applied:

I can see the cloning on your diffuse.

But when i see it with the normal it does not look bad

uhm well the lava looks indeed copy stamped. did you use photomaterial or was it zbrush or sculpting you used to create the colormap?

Yeah, as I said I tried some new "techniques" (not that Clone is new, I just used it in a different way). And hessi, pure photoshop except for a few rock references... in fact, I didn't even use a cooled lava reference.

looks beyond cool spinlock. Now I challenge you to make that expand, collapse, expand, and blow up with lava everywehre. Then make it triggered when players get near. And have some cool particle effects GG

There are a few tiling issues that I have to sort out, but it is mainly done.

Lacks contrast and there are overly sharp areas, but other than that looks good.

Looks damn good to me! It is free 4 use, isnt it?

The contrast is perfect, Sindwiller. It could use some more damage and color, but I like it.
