First ingame footage of Borderlands and so many GBX folks here but no thread about it yet?

Here we go, E3 walkthrough with Randy P:

    http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/53723

I like the idea of procedurally generated weapons, but apart from that not much new here?! It appears like a cross-over of Mass Effect and Halo to me. Visually I'm not sold yet either.

    Project sounds good, yes.

Weird that they chose this dark cave for the presentation. You really couldn't see anything interesting.

    looks epic :}!

glad to see that was just the alpha build. The AI looked kinda boring to play against. other than that SOLID! :}!

Doesnt look that interesting to me yet, but its a very early build. The vehicle vid gives me a Huxley/UT3 feeling in style.

The "ARRRRGH INSANE AMOUNT OF GUNS!!!" thing is pretty awesome, the sniper rifle with the 6-loader on was awesome

It does look awfully generic though, hopefully there's enough change of environments and enemies to spice it up.

And why no threads about BIA? Some badass work being done there by quite a few members of this very forum!

That's mostly from the video capture from the demonstration, the actual balance is closer to this screen:

I'm pretty excited. The response from E3 has been craaaazy good.

The section of the video where whoever playing started spitting out all those randomly generated guns all over the place sold me on it.

I enjoyed it, though I was busy laughing too much to take much notice of some parts because of the guys aim with the crappy controller.

I'm a sucker for FPS-RPGs, and a sucker for Diablo loot collection. The revolver electric sniper rifle was fucking awesome.

I played only the first Brothers in Arms, but didn't like it very much. The guns felt TOO inaccurate, and my squad felt like they served no purpose outside being a distraction (plus I had some weird graphical glitches with the foliage, I guess my card wasn't properly supported or something). How much has changed for the sequels?

Not to derail the thread on the game I'm working on (I figure it's another Gearbox project so it's ok), but here's Mikey (of zilla fame) and Col. Antal showing one of the levels for GameSpot that demonstrates exactly how your old concerns were addressed: http://www.gamespot.com/video/930277/61 ... -show-demo You'll be pretty accurate and the squads are pretty effective too (as you'll notice in the video).

As for Borderlands again, our effects guy deserves some mad crazy props. Randy mentions face-melting in the demo; I think people will enjoy seeing that one.

That was about how I felt in my job interview, haha.

Hmm too early to really judge about it but there are things i disliked:

The guy who was talking is so annoying

Why does it look a lot worse than BIA? I've seen (quite a few) UT2004 Onslaught maps that look better than the outdoor area that was shown in the second video.

Why would I need half a million guns? More guns != more fun.

But again, probably too early to judge...

Heh cool to see/hear Mike - sorry "Mikey" - in the video, nice footage of the game too!

Even though Borderlands hasn't won my heart just yet, I must say it's quite impressive you got 3 (announced) AAA titles in the works at Gearbox at the same time: Borderlands, BiA AND Aliens.

Or Rage. I'm looking forward to seeing proper screenshots of the new style, could look really cool.

    That's supposedly an in-game screenshot.

I wonder what the red thing on his pistol is.
