Just out of curiosity, what would (general) numbers be to consider something to have sold bad/decent/great in a 5 day period? cause 106,000 definitely isn't good, but the whole only being from 5 days makes me wonder more precisely how bad it was in comparison...

Depending on how much (or little) they spent on making the game 106k copies in one week could actually be good. Wolfenstein doesn't strike me as an AAA title, it sure didn't get AAA advertising.

That's far from being one of the reasons why It's selling so badly, gamers don't care if the employees are layed off.
I said it didn't help, I wasn't impying it was a big issue. It's not that "Oh, we're so offended by their actions of downsizing we won't support them", it's that the small percentage of us gamers who follow the news heard about the layoffs and closings and took it as a sign of a lack of confidence on activision's part in the game.

Immidate Selling stop of Wolfenstein In Germany

I just heard about this here at crytek, and the reason is like... OMFG! Aparently all the nazi symbols had to be removed from the game to be comercialized here in germany, thing is, they forgot to remove this one from the german version:

Result? Game was completely pulled back from all stores!
For those curious, here's the diference between the manly version, and the krau.. i mean german version:

HAHAHA, that shitty decal stayed in the game!
-
LOL... you can barely even see it, whole lot of fuss about nothing.
-
Germany and Australia sure do like to over react about censorship.
-
Don't mention the war!
-
Any word if this will be released on steam? I'd sure give it a try if it was.
-
It's barely visible, for christ's sake

Activision also pulled the Quake 4 1.1 patch because if you changed display resolutions over and over again really super quickly between resolutions that weren't supported, it apparently caught really old CRT monitors on fire. :\

I'm very confused, but also laughing very hard.

Just finished the game, and after giving it a second chance I can say I did have a lot of fun playing through it. Everything does work really well as a whole and all around it is a very solid shooter and looks pretty darn good.
Kinda got me a little excited for Singularity now

So is somebody gonna explain how unsupported resolutions can set monitors on fire or what?
