I look forward to this game myself, the playable at Blizzcon was pretty awesome.

Some new stuff.

I want to play. Also, someone rename this thread, please.

played it today at GC. Felt like the cheap and "Omg-so-serious" clone of Torchlight (Really when torchlight was a clone of the first two ones).
-
Really... man, they better not screw this series up. I would of loved to have seen what Blizz North had for D3 all through out their development on it. The game has a giant smooth filter on everything right now

Not trying to be a troll but how is this different than WOW? I never played Diablo II and only played WOW up to like level 50.

Looking at it right now I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking it was a topdown WoW game. I HIGHLY suggest that you play Diablo II and it's expansion Lord of Destruction.
The difference between Diablo II and WoW, is that one is an action packed slaughter fest contained within a fantastically atmospheric and brooding environment. Whereas the other game has goblins.
Listen to these two pieces and tell me which has more soul to it:

I recommend playing D1 first and then D2+LOD. I still think D1 has one of the best atmospheres of any game I've played, lights off at 1 or 2 in the morning, can't beat that. That's why I'm going to be super f*cking po'ed if D3 turns out to be garbage or more WC3/WOW than Diablo. The latest videos of New Tristram reminds me of WC3 a bit too much to be honest, perhaps it's the transition from 2.5d to 3d that's throwing me off :\
Also:
The Diablo series has had some pretty freaking amazing soundtracks composed (Thanks, Matt Uelmen), the first better than the second, imo.External Content www.youtube.comContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. I thought that the new video showing off new tristram (and the blacksmith thingie) was sorta more in style with d2 than anything ive seen up 'till now.
I mean, at least it was dark and a little gloomy.
-
I played it. Not so impressed. I guess maybe 15 minutes of playing is not enough to like the game.

Where are people playing this? Some lame event?
-
GamesCom.
Looking forward to the new crafting system by the way, and the 14 gem quality levels are insane. However, I don't really enjoyed the looks of New Tristram in the area near the blacksmith, but the town itself as shown with the zombie champions is awesome. :derp:

Is it just me, or are those trailers introducing the monk and the wizard *really* poorly done, cheesy/corny? It looks like a fan-made machinima, not something that should be on blizzard's website. I'm shocked tbh, blizzard is the master of epic trailers and cutscenes and all that jazz, and this looks like maybe they got to the initial rough draft and said.. meh good enough.

I prefer the colors in the game, and if it plays like Torchlight, good, except D3 will have a story and better character progression/ skills, and well just about everything else. Looking forward to it.

Completely forgot about Grim Dawn, definitely more along the lines of what I wanted D3 to look like. My biggest objection to the current D3 look is how smooth they have everything. I'm hoping they'll add some noise in there later on down the road.

The game takes place in the sanctuary, a world of dark fantasy. The two character classes shown off during today’s announcement of Diablo III is a mixture of old and new, representing the formula that the Blizzard development team seems to be aiming for with the latest installment in its blockbuster action game series
Interesting bot this one.
