Crytek uses the same site for Warhead as they used for teasing Crysis.

Bloody hell they really have taken 'teaser site' in it's most literal form... It's just a picture of a bloke holding a gun, looking slightly pissed off, with the name 'Crysis Warhead' below him.

    I hate teasers.

I see two scenarii down the road. Either this new site is followed by some proper announcement/teaser/trailer/screenshot in the next couple weeks or this is all a simple attempt at a quick PR turnabout, with people saying some negative stuff about the patch ordeal, without having anything substantial to show for now, because Warhead is just too early to reveal. I do hope it's the first one though, cause I'd like to see what they can do with their engine, and I mean other than a shooter.

Very nice timing to announce this on top of the dropped support. Considering that around half a year has passed since the Crysis release, then they should be able to have either some screenshots or a trailer ready soon.

it appears the estimated release date is

    19/9/2008

So shall we start to speculate what the scenario will be? I think that you'll have to stop the koreans from blowing up the aliens with a war head but only after you realise that they are actually quite nice aliens.

But on a more serious note, I'm looking forward to it.

Ea and Crytek announce Crysis Warhead (Pc only).

That sounds like cash-cow to me. Giving the franchise complete into the east-block where development is cheaper and just picking same scenery, same soldier design and same everything, adding some weapons and vehicles... I'm not used to pay for something like that honestly.

But maybe the final product will be better than this Announcement.

PC only, that means Crysis quality will stay as it is, maybe even better, good good...

What the hell is going on at Crytek?

First they announce that they're not developing exclusively to PC anymore due piracy and then drops Crysis patch support.

And now they're working on a PC EXCLUSIVE Crysis "expansion"...

    I don't understand.

The engine's probably no good for consoles at the moment. Their PC sales were pretty good supposedly though, so it makes sense to milk it a bit. I guess they'll announce a console-oriented project before long.
