Here comes another comic-to-movie adaption thread! 
But it's ok, it's Batman, he has made his first appearance on the big screen waaaay back. Speaking of which - does anyone else get the feeling we have seen all this before? Anyway, trailer looks good. I don't even recognize Heath Fledger behind the makeup, is/was he that good or am I missing something?
Batman movies always seem to be great.
Personally though.. really the Joker? You're trying to fill the shoes of Jack Nicholson which almost seems laughable. Why I'm sure the movie will be more than just entertaining I doubt Heath Ledger would do as good as a job as Nicholson did.
Speaking of which, why did they fucking re-introduce the Joker? I don't really get it. There are a thousand villains that Heath Ledger could of played yet they gave him a role of a villain who already died! I don't understand is the movie a re-make? It obviously can't be a sequel because the original died.
Both Batman Begins and Dark Knight are a complete reboot, similarly to Casino Royale, meaning that any previous movies never happened as far as they're concerned.
Batman Begins had a much harder and more believable tone to it than the older films, almost worlds apart in general feel. I personally think the new world created in these newer films is much more appealing, as it feels like an actual world where these insane villains and a guy in a suit could feasibly exist. The older Batman films had a much more comic-like edge to them.
Have you not seen Batman Begins? I highly recommend it, and it's pretty much ubiquitously seen as an amazing film. It's rated #103 out of all films on IMDB (the only Batman film even in the top 250, and neighbours with films like Jaws and Full Metal Jacket), which is a sign of just how much people like it.

that's kind of a stupid link. some guy made that trailer himself, not warner brothers. hell i could take clips from stewart little and have them match a trailer like the dark knight. what was he trying to say? warner bothers copied his pseudo homemade trailer?
Worst. Make-up. Ever. I'm not very excited about it. Batman Begins was waaaay better

Take it easy, I never said that, and he never said that. If you read the comments, you will see that the trailer on the top is NOT the original, but one that he cut to match up. The point is, it's pretty neat.

Curman - it's pretty obvious that "The Dark Knight" is a remake of the original Batman movie from 1989 isn't it? 
Oryginal Batman was something they SHOULDN'T HAVE REDO!
It's not quite that simple. They're not really redoing it as such, but instead creating a new film based on the original comic stories.
One thing that was notable about Batman Begins is that it interpreted the comics in a very different way to the older films, and while some stuff was similar the backstories of just as many things were completely different. Indeed, one of the biggest differences is how exactly Gotham City itself became what it is, and how Bruce is intertwined with that. I suspect it'll be the same in Dark Knight, with the origin of the Joker, his motives, etc, being incomparable to the older Batman film.
Yeah I have a bad feeling that Batman movies are more like James Bond series now. Each director has their own take and idea of who and what James Bond is. Either way it's not going to be as exciting seeing as the Joker has already been played.
Afaik the new batman movies are based on the Batman comics by Frank Miller.
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns is a Batman comic book miniseries written and drawn by Frank Miller and published by DC Comics from February to June 1986. It reintroduced Batman to the general public as the psychologically dark character of his original 1930s conception

They arent redoing the batmans. They are just doing a trilogy that is more stylized towards adults rather than kids. The main thing is there are 3 villains in this one: Scarecrow (he is in the car that batman crushes in the trailer), The Joker and 2 Face. 2 Face will be the main bad guy in the third movie said Noland (director) And The Darkknight will have his transformation (as seen in the trailer again). I think this trilogy will be good tbh because i didnt like the old batman stories as they were oriented to kids too much even tho they had great casts. I like this darker tone.
Batman Begins was by far my favorite Batman movie ever. I liked the first Batman movie with ... who was it Michael Keaton as Batman? It was great, hated all the other ones since (except Batman Begins of course).
So this movie...yeah I admit I'm skeptical because of the joker role seems a bit off, but I'm willing to see it anyway and am overall expecting a good film. Christian Bale >>>> all other Batman hacks!
