A rhino camera slide, iglide steady system, clip mic, mobile audio recorder, mobile LED lights and tons of other video capture goodies, preparing for when I go on some bad ass expedition style holidays so I can make some mini documentaries.

    That's some kick-ass gear

Shall we expect some fresh batch of pics in the random photo thread? :)

Planning trips to Ethiopia and Indonesia to look at volcanoes and other geographic shizzle, my flickr is http://www.flickr.com/2dchris but I've not taken any serious photos/video in a while, plan to change that now I've settled into my new job.

That's amazing! Will look you up and follow waiting for some shizzle to show up :) I'm always happy to collect new desktop pictures, and volcanoes are cool.

When you going to Ethiopia? (I didn't know they have volcanoes there! :$)

Edit: just seen the album, great great stuff! Everything is so #crispy :D

I wonder why nobody has done inductive charging mousepads for wireless mice yet

Don't get me wrong, you would still be able to move the mouse anywhere - but it would just be charging while on the mousepad. It's really just a replacement for a charger as it were.

I found myself more and more frustrated with having wires laying around on my desk for my peripherals, so I wanted to go all wireless with everything. Took my a while to get decent parts but here they are:

-Bluetooth mechanical keyboard with red switches (had to import it from korea lol https://www.diatec.co.jp/en/det.php?prod_c=1877 ;wireless mechanical keyboards are very hard to find)

    custom keycaps from http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/

-Steelseries sensei wireless gaming mouse https://steelseries.com/gaming-mice/sensei-wireless

Loving it so far :)! I wish the mouse had longer battery life but it's not so bad with the charging base that comes with it. Keyboard batteries will last a year at least but it seems there's no good wireless gaming mouse with such long battery life . Still, the 20+ hours it had is plenty as long as i make it a habit to but it on its charging base when not using it, I haven't had it go dead yet so far

    How is the Steelseries mouse?

My Logitech G400s has been acting like a bitch since a few weeks (randomly disconnecting/reconnecting to the USB port, which according to google search is a pretty common problem related to the mouses' cable). So I'm looking for a replacement, and for the first time I don't plan on getting a Logitech.

Do you experience any lag when using it wireless? I read somewhere it can only be charged with the pad when the computer is on, does that apply to standby mode too?

Overall, would you recommend it? :)

I have gone through a few G400s with exactly that problem, and that combined with two cats who like to play with mouse cables is why I wanted to finally go wireless :p.

I can't feel any lag.at all, the low latency is one of main reasons why I picked this one over other wireless mice with longer battery life :).

It charges when the PC is powered off or on standby, though I haven't tested how well it charges in those states.. my computer is pretty much always turned on.
Battery life has been pretty awesome so far, I haven't had it go below 70% even after using it all day long. I do make it a habit to put it on the charging base when I'm away from my computer.

So yeah, so far I'd recommend it :). It's designed with low latency for gaming but doesn't look like a typical ugly gaming mouse, just has a nice minimalist elegant design, which I like a lot. The only thing that sucks is the software that comes with it. Getting the firmware update for it made it stop working completely :S, but if you just install it and have it run in the background, it's no big deal.

Not a fan of these ugly gaming mouses either :D Thanks for the reply, I might pick this up!

I ordered these babies, got them for around 200 euros so I couldn't resist them. Already have the Sennheiser PC360 and have been thinking about the HD 650's for a while, but I wanted something different, and the Philips has been praised everywhere on the internet.

PS I traded in the mechanical keyboard I posted earlier for the same model but with blue cherry MX switches instead. I realized I like the clicky tactile feel of those way better :). I also fitted rubber dampener rings on every key:

typing on this thing feels AMAZING now =)

How is it compared to typing without them? I always bottom out when I type because that is what I have done all my life. Thinking about getting these so that I bottom out faster and thus can write faster etc, also they make so much noise. ):

Same reason I stopped buying logitech's garbage! :P FWIW, I've owned two steelseries mice for years, both work completely fine. in about the same time, I went through 4-5 logitech mice.

I'm in the middle of upgrading my PC, I just picked up a Fractal Design Define R5, and some g-skill ram.

Speaking of cases... I need this case

It's side profile is more or less that of an A4 sheet of paper (I presume that's an international standard?) but is only 10cm wide!

It's just missing a carry handle...

@DrywallDreams I don't know if you're planning on upgrading graphics, but sit tight and wait for NVIDIA's pascal architecture to roll out. We're talking 4x more transistors over 900 series + HBM2.0. People reckon the x50 (GTX 1050?) model will be outperforming the 980 Ti

So I bought this today :D

Need some getting used to, but it's pretty much just about finding the right sensitivity settings. Other than that, I love it so far! Thanks again @Pericolos0!

I just like small form factor machines!

It's good enough for most. All the major heat creating parts draw their air directly from outside and due to the natural positive pressure of the case the hot air is forced out the exhaust vents. However, due to the space constraints the CPU is limited to a low profile fan cooler, so people will need to be super vigilant when overclocking.
