@jackophant I ordered the Nexus 5X! Can't wait for these to ship. My Nexus4 barely gets through a day these days

    noice :D

I just flashed my Nexus 6 with marshmallow (which the 4 sadly doesn't get :(), and what would comfortably get me through the working day is now forecasting 3 whole days of battery life!

How does this compare to the last one? (other than the red).

I haven't really drove it yet to be honest. I still have the rental car (a pretty much brand new Vauxhall Insignia) the insurance gave me until next Friday so going to just keep driving that instead of putting miles on my car. Drove fine on the way home from picking it up though. I think the exhaust is blowing a little so got it in the garage tomorrow for a check over. But, for a car of it's age, it's pretty much immaculate inside and out, so I'm hoping the engine will be too!

    [...]Vauxhall Insignia[...]

You just screwed with my mind. In germany Vauxhall is called Opel and i'm so not used to read/hear Vauxhall :D Didn't like that car when i worked at Europcar tbh. Back then when i looked for my car, the Civic was also on the list. I'm curious how it drives. Is it good?

Yeah the Insignia is a bit huge, definitely too big for a single guy with no kids! Though the one I have has nice comforts. Built in sat nav, air con, plays music over the speakers via bluetooth and all that. But yeah, too big!

As I said I can't speak for my current Civic really but my last one was a dream to drive. I had the diesel version (2.2 litre) and it's kind of quick if you want it to be and you still get the good MPG out of it (60MPG on motorway - About 45MPG with city driving). It's pretty big on the inside even though the car looks small (Can comfortably seat 5) and the boot has a lot of space too. Has all of the modern features too (sat nav etc).

I drove one at a previous job and fell in love with it. Once I broke into the games industry I bought myself one so I didn't have to get the bus anymore. I had my last one for 3.5 years with zero problems apart from brakes and tyres needing replacing which is just general wear and tear! Great cars and engines to be honest!

If you really wanted you could get the diesel engine remapped to add an extra 55BHP for about £250 which makes it as fast as the petrol Type-R version :D

I'd recommend the car. A friend of mine has a sports car which gets 17MPG but since I've had my Civic he's looking to buy one for his next car.

Oh shit! I didn't realise they packed such a huge diesel engine in that little thing!

I had a 1.6l diesel in my 2006 fiesta and have another 1.6l in my 2012 Focus. New engine gets about the same mileage (47mpg) pushing 115bhp, but might see about remapping...

As much as I love my diesel, I've developed a need for speed so am looking out for something a little sportier these days!

Buick (US) / Vauxhall (UK) / Opel (EU) / Holden (AUS) are all regional variations of a GMC subsidiary iirc

At stock the 2.2 Civic will get 0-60 in about 8.5 seconds I believe. Which isn't all that bad! With the Stage 1 remap from Celtic tuning (Which they say is fine with stock parts) it takes the BHP up to 193 or something around that and the 0-60 time down to about 7 seconds. I'm so tempted to get it done :D

@Beck bigger engine, smaller car. very nice. I do 0-60 in about 10s :( and that's faster than the older fiesta, but even that still feels pretty impressive to me!

Well.. I'm driving a Seat Exeo ST 2.0 TDI(built upon the chassis of a former Audi A4) as a single guy with no kids :D I really like big cars. Super easy to transport lots of stuff. I really enjoy that. Also big cars are great for the Autobahn. I would like a bit more bhp than the 143 i have, but it's totally fine for the moment. No idea how many MPG it's using. In germany we use litre per 100km to measure fuel usage and that's about 6,7l/100km what i'm currently driving with.

I was looking at cars on Piston Heads which did less 0-60 in less than 60 seconds whilst looking at cars again. There's a lot out there for quite cheap which can fulfil that criteria!

    Compensating are we? ;)

Like I said, the Civic is surprisingly roomy. Everyone who gets in it comments on it.

I don't mind big cars either to be honest. But I think everything feels faster in a smaller car! Not that I even speed or anything. But it's nice to know you have power available should you need it for an overtake or whatever :)

Guys just take a bike! With mine in Paris last weekend, I was faster than that baby:

I hope you don't mind the smaller size of the Kana. I could never get a good grip on it and my hand would cramp up. Its a great mouse if you travel around with a laptop but I wouldn't use it as a desktop mouse as it is small.

Arrived yesterday. I wouldn't mind a bigger mouse, but this is the exact same footprint of the Logitech Pilot 300mx that I've been using for the last decade, so even with my big hands looks like I'll be comfortable.
Would like something a bit heavier though.

Also surprised that hovering the mouse on the pad a few mm it still tracks, so maybe that could be annoying when re-positioning the mouse when getting close to the edges (although this should happen much less now).

    ~

Now I have to look again for a case/sleeve cos the HP one didn't fit by 1cm! :(

I've been thinking of good headphones for a while... I've always been partial to the wired solution, but I'm thinking I'd prefer a wireless now, just thinking if I want to game or watch stuff late night and not disturb, cable might be not long enough, and is just annoying moving from PC to TV etc. Also could use with phone I imagine.

A rhino camera slide, iglide steady system, clip mic, mobile audio recorder, mobile LED lights and tons of other video capture goodies, preparing for when I go on some bad ass expedition style holidays so I can make some mini documentaries.
