thanks! I started with the 10D, then the 30D, then the Nikon D200 and now I'm back with my old love, Canon. the lens is nice too (about 28mm on a aps-c sensor tho, but very light sensitive and really nice sharpness compared to consumerlenses), got an extremely good deal on a used one and the 50D was €556,00 new (wich is a pretty good deal too). can't wait to go on phototrips with my friends again. it's going to be awesome :monkey:

kickass 40" TV to watch the world cup and play games

    Pros:

    - Cheap for what it does

    - Outstanding image quality (I compared this to a similarly priced LG and this one was a lot brigther )

    - Plays most video files from usb devices (mkv, divx, xvid etc)

    - 4 HDMI ports

    Cons:

    - 60hz

60hz isnt a con in my opinion. I don't like how movies, etc look on 120 hz, although games are slightly/ barely noticeably better.

hmm a buddy has a 120hz samsung LED Tv and I think it looks amazing (for movies that is). I heard some people saying Sony's and Samsung's 120hz technology are the best, while LG's and Philips' are the worst. I saw a 120hz (240hz in fact) LG TV at the store and it looked horrible, full of ghosts and artefacts.

In fact I went to the store only to get that LG TV but then I saw this Samsung next to it and it looked ridiculously better.

I bought a 50'' Plasma TV LG to do the same as mino (World Cup and games) But 3 days after appears a FUCK DEAD PIXEL, very annying I phone the guarantee service but they told that dead pixels are not considered a problem.

That TV has 3 HDMI inputs, Time Machice Ready (With this service I connect my HD and record some stuff), USB (I use this to wath my porns in Divx) and many others sexy things, but that DP is doing me in. I think I going to take a hammer and crash this fuck (Serious) or find a maintenance service.

    Here it is:

I have only seen samsung and sony, but you know what I forgot about, its not actually the 120hz I dislike for movies, its the AutoMotion Plus processing which is actually adjustable and can be turned off. But if you like the soap opera effect, I guess keep it on.

Yeah I think I know what you mean. I've seen Transformers 2 with AutoMotion at a store once and after 5 minutes it was starting to give me headaches. So annoying.

I played with the TV settings again last night and man.. I couldn't get a better TV to play games at this price range. After proper tuning it looks a lot better than I had expected. It easily tops the 2008 Bravia we have at the office imo.

So yeah if you are looking for a cheap and capable TV for HD gaming I highly recommend this one (Samsung C550 series)

It's painful but brilliant. He's like a more successful, realistic & volatile version of Alan Partridge who just cannot bite his tongue, even when he's trying to be nice to people.

    Is it the 21UX?

Man, I already tried it and these things are amazing. It might be the biggest waste of money for some people, but in the hands of the right artist is the investment of a lifetime, pure awesome!
