Excellent film and the only good film WS Anderson made! On a sonewhat related note, I got this today:

I bought the first Aliens films earlier in this thread but I didn't know this existed and I was looking to get all the Aliens/Predator and AVP:Requiem on DVD and when I saw this it was instant buy, sure it has a couple of stinkers (ie Alien 3 and AVP1) but for £15 I wont grumble and some of the DVDs have extra features too

nice buy indeed d3, does it has predator 1 and 2 as well? or just the AVP ones?

Event horizon is awesome, Dead Space inspired a lot on it.

It has both Predators as well as all the Aliens and AVP films

I actually watched AVP last night and it's not as bad as I remember, in fact it's so much better than Requiem which I enjoyed more in the cinema but when I watched it again I found it to be completely pointless drivel. How can such a strong franchise with lots of background story get fucked up so bad? Waiting to see how bad AVP3 turns out

They should just make a film out of the AVP graphic novel...

the mixture of those two shouldve never became a reality in the first place, not in the movies at least.

I agree, and If anything... stop basing every fucking movie these days on Earth, and only earth. Where is the fantasy, the lore of sci-fi gone? (besides in games)

I agree kinda, everyone wet themselves after the end of Predator 2 and it's been in the pipeline ever since. If they did a decent job of it, it could be an excellent film, like if they followed the graphic novel more because the storyline there works perfectly, there's a nod towards it towards the end of the first AVP film but it's rushed and lacks chemistry between the cardboard "heroine" and the predator.

I'm more interested in Cameron's Alien prequel which may or may not be in the works, supposedly giving us more of an insight into who the "Space Jockeys" are and the origins of the bugs themselves.

yeah, I'm pretty curious about that as well. Although, I like how that has been under mystery all these years, and maybe it should stay that way. They will probably come up with some cheesy explanation, and shit...

On the other hand, it should be James working on it, that guy has never let me down

Nice buy Erratic. Dunno if you know, but that movie is Dead Space (the game) biggest inspiration, which is awesome!

That's all I could think of throughout the whole movie. There's too many parallels to even list.

Good movie, though something tells me I would have been a little more taken aback by the whole thing had I not seen Sunshine way before it.

wtf, you're right!! Sorry, still suffering a bit from a hangover here!

Ah, classics rocks! I'm so glad I have most of the emulators on my PSP. Plus, since the screen is so small, it doesn't hurt so much playing those old games.

    Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete shimatta!

I think I spelt that right. It's a run and gun cute 'em up that's pretty cool if you don't take it very seriously. Unfortunately it's 3D so you have amibigious hitboxes, and the score system is broken so you need to stand in the same spot for 10 minutes (real time) milking enemy respawns.
