Yeah totally agree about the perspective. I noticed that when the painting was done :S

Here's something I'm working on. Line art by a friend.

I really like your coloring on the linework, could imagine some kind of short comic style that way. The perspective line where the floor meets the wall is curves oddly tho.

Alright here's another one. I went for a cyberpunk'ish look for this one. The perspective is kind off boring but I'm finally feeling able to work with nice 3 points perspectives from now on =) The water is very sucky and WIP as well. If anyone know any good tuts on how to paint water or has any good tips feel free to post them. Comments and critics are appreciated as always.

sweet man! I like this one a lot. You use the polygonal lasso a good deal in yours dont you?

The reflection of that one building is awesome but yeah I agree that the water lacks. For water my personal preference is horizontal strokes building interacting color. You could watch that one video tutorial someone (probably you lol) posted that had the speedpainting of the craggly rocks in the water and the tree on a teetering rock in the distance.

the mood in this is awesome but i think the building in the far left is a bit too sharp

good work. i think the white stripes in the water are superfluous though. and the water needs to ripple more; no large water mass would be as still as you make it to be (judging by the faint ripple you've applied to the build).

also, it seems sort of like it was made for pixel art... just at higher resolution. ah i know, the lines are too straight. it seems... unnatural.

Yeah I agree about the pixel art thing. I didn't use any vanishing points so the perspective is kind off boring. But I wanted to paint something wide so I guess it works fine for this case.

    I'm calling this done now:

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Did two new paintings today. They are nothing special or inspiring but I'm trying to get quicker so I set myself a time frame of 25 minutes for each one.

Good stuff. The second is really good. I love his constitution, looks nice. Your painting own a splendid atmosphere. You have a great mind!

I imagine it well in a modern paintings exhibition ^^.

the first one is really good, you've got the flow in it. i don't like the second one, perhaps because of the lack of perspective. it really kills the painting that there's only 2 dimensions to each building..

    Thanks guys!

Yeah I really like the idea of the first one, however the realization was very poor since it was a 20min painting. Anyways it's a great start for a full painting.

Sentura: Yeah I agree. My main goal with that one was to test a few brushes I made + to learn to integrate photo-textures into my paintings, just like peris did with his Blade Runner painting. I failed miserably though

Hey here is a nice speed painting video from one of the concept artists at Grin. It's pretty cool might give you some ideas!

awesome! Try finding a nice quick brush to paint clouds/fog/dust with and you can make this a lot more awesome =)

    Thanks man

I made a neat clouds brush, however it's not on my home PC. I also just noticed I was a big fool and collapsed the layers before saving the PSD for this arrgh
