Furthermore it might be abit hard to catch up with Yousef Karsh, but you did a nice job though!
On the stilistic of the lighting: Karsh used subtile lightings and had no hardedged shadows or highlights on his persons but always a whole "lighting-scene", while in the here shown picture you clearly see two spots or whatever this is.
yes you really nailed that. The skin detail is superb. I guess you used a classic setup of two spots direct and global with low angle?
Actually no, this is the worst part. That was taken in my dorm

I always find it the hardest part to get good structure in photos if I don't setup my spots.
Yeah, I just got lucky with this lighting, and I also did a bit of RAW editing
