I find it very interesting that they show off new gameplay footage this way. I for one hadn't seen the ingame fight with the mech before, and also that European looking city in the end was new stuff as well.

    But cool, Konami/Ubisoft merger inbound

Well, it's not fake as such. The two studios did actually collaborate to create this, making it a first-party mod that'll probably never make it into the final release (although it'd be amazing if it were one of the bonus costumes you traditionally get at the end of MGS games).

But we all knew that, right?

Isn't there a Master Chief custom model for UT3? This was essentially an Altair model thrown into MSG4...so while it was cool to look at it's not like this hasn't been done before, especially consiering it's been done in PC mods for, what over a decade now? But as for adding to whatever MSG4 hype there is, hey, we all looked at, right?

Well, they did modify the model somewhat so it's Snake underneath and not Altair — and quite a bit of stuff shown in that trailer is new. Still, you're right: this was clearly for publicity (or rather, to net in non-MGS fans who've played Assassin's Creed), but combining two cross-company stealth games is an interesting April Fools 'joke' and any new MGS4 footage is good footage.

I'm guessing it's a lot cooler if you've somehow never really seen MGS and take it seriously.
