If MapCore had a "spotlight galery" - this map would be featured!

Took it for a spin. Looks great SKDR, I couldn't find anything wrong visually. Can't comment on the gameplay as I just ran around for a few minutes. Not your fault but I'm over the TF2 texture sets already.

Any organised playtests going on? I'd get in on it if I can though my ping would be an abomination

Really great work here! It seems to be on the nice line between following the TF2 style and yet providing some new stuff.

Valve's own Robin Walker comments on Redstone's looks:

    Quote

Shack: Before I forget, I couldn't help but overhear you a minute ago talking about [shacknews community member -sk-'s map] CP_Redstone.Robin Walker: So what we do is every Tuesday and Thursday we try and play through community maps, and we have a big list, but we haven't gotten to Redstone, so I feel bad. I don't want to make design comments, it's just, we were talking about it, and I was saying how one of the interesting things in the community--there are different maps which catch your eye for different reasons. Redstone's screenshots caught my eye because I thought it was a really good example of how, just.. it's really fun to look out there and see people who are just customers of TF, who can kind of pick up the visual style and start to sort of put their own touch to it, but still fit in really neatly. And I thought Redstone did that really well, just looking at the screenshots. Can't comment on the gameplay yet.

Pretty awesome to have one of the daddies of Team Fortress themselves approving of your map.

We had a very small playtest of redstone lastnight, with only um, 4 players One thing I noticed was the large amount of health packs and ammo, obviously with more players they would not be so frequently avaliable but I do think there are too many and often only a few meters apart from each other. Another thing I noticed was the amount of time it took to capture a point, does it normally take thins long or is this something unique for the map balance?

I also noticed quite a number of stange lighting on props and texture alignment (mainly in the red team outside area near spawn)

Everything else is really really good, it looks great and should play fantastic with more players

Yeah, it's supposed to be played with 20+ players.

Looks pretty awesome... Excuse me for asking a stupid question I could probably check myself, but I am away from home atm, so could you tell me if anybody on TF2 plays this on their servers? Like, are there any servers that host this map?

Looking great as usual, will run through.

Us too. I'm going to run an event for it this weekend though because I do like it, so if you're around at like 6pm GMT tomorrow I can normally get a server filled for any map (did Yeehaw last week). Join our Steam community and you'll get the event pop-up when it happens. I try to do weekly events for nice/new custom maps.
