[UE4] Darksiders 3 Art Dump

    Hello Mapcore peeps, it's ya boi Horse Strangler aka BananaSandbags aka BillGatesFan69.

    Been working on this one for around two years now with the talented folks over at Gunfire Games. The game releases tonight (at the time of writing this post). Darksiders 3 is a Adventure/RPG hack and slash. A lot of the art here focused on a semi-stylized PBR look. It's not quite Blizzard hand painterly, but it's seen a lot of inspiration from it. Was a fun time transitioning that look and style to a pbr heavy engine like UE4. I plan to do a writieup of some of the interesting art challenges we faced working on the game for the site in the near future, so keep an eye out for that one!

    Looks really cool! The church shots in particular seem to pop quite a bit.

    I'm having a great time so far, I'm fresh off of Hollow Knight so I'm primed for another good metroidvania. So far it feels like it's scratching that itch. The environments have a really nice look to them - it's so cool to see the Darksiders art direction in UE4. There's so many bits of subtle microdetails that you didn't get in the old Vigil Darksiders engine. I only wish there was a photo mode ?

    Fantastic job and super inspiring art. Thanks for sharing it ! :)

    I played the game during the Xmas holidays and I really enjoyed it. Art -wise I loved how you guys managed to retain the look and feel of the first 2 games (also building upon it). My favorite area is definitely the "Heaven": I loved the look of those bulky tree roots and branches.

    I journeyed over here to drool at the art some more but looks like the images have been taken down or the links have stopped working. Hope it gets fixed!
