m8nkey Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 I've just updated my system and now I'm running 64bit vista. I went to checkout Nem's site and download the latest version of his VTF plugin for photoshop but his site seams to be down. Can anyone here confirm there's a version compatible with Photoshop CS4 x64? I haven't managed to find one elsewhere. Quote
Buddy Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 There's even no DDS plugin for x64 version yet afaik so stick to x84 version. Quote
hessi Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 Probably this would only require a recompile. Maybe minor changes. Quote
m8nkey Posted January 4, 2009 Author Report Posted January 4, 2009 thanks for the info guys. I can access Nem's site again now so not sure if the problem was his end or mine. I find it a pretty useful little app for streamlining workflow so I'm just running both versions of photoshop for the time being. Quote
Wunderboy Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 Nem's site is there, it's just the DNS that seems to be flakey - usually takes a few reloads to get it to come up. Secondly, there is no x64 version of the Photoshop plug-in. This is down to the fact it's built off an older Photoshop SDK (v9 if I recall) which only came in a 32-bit version. From CS onwards Adobe stopped making the SDK public and require(d) you to become a paid member of the Adobe Developer Network to get access to it. I did ask Adobe if we could get ahold of it but it required signing the most ridculous NDA and contract I've ever seen. There's also the issue that for CS onwards you have to write plug-ins in a totally different way which, to some degree, breaks backwards compatibility. Sticking with the v9 SDK has benefits in that programs other than Photoshop can use the plug-in as well. So in short, blame Adobe. Quote
The Horse Strangler Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 I currently run 32bit PS on Vista 64bit, works fine for me. Quote

I dont think thats possible. I think perhaps you should direct a question like that to the adobe forums (if there are any). Quote
Zeta Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Yup it only seems to work in 32bit mode. Quote
Surfa Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 You need to go ahead and deactivate the old copy first but then you could always download the trial of the version you have an just input the serial key. Quote
