    Hi All,
Some of you maybe remember "Codewise" a hostage map that I've submited for the mapcore contest 2 months ago( https://migrationtest.mapcore.org/topic/19476-wip-codewise/ ) Yesterday I've uploaded a bomb defusal variation of this map and it's called "de_Codewise" --> http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/fi…s/?id=549033715
Because of the different gameplay that goes along with bomb defusal mode I decided to change a lot in the architecture. Some of the rooms are now more open and I've added new places like basement, vent system or the possibility to walk around the palace. The map still needs some polishing, specially some of the models and their "light info"
If you wan't you can playtest the map on our server: 62.67.42.166:27035

Let me know what you think! Thanks for any support/like.
    Cheers!

I was working on removing many bugs and glitches so sorry for the delay. I really appreciate it Klems, P1g3oN, ics and laminutederire that you found some time for testing the map and giving feedback. Specially that most of you are working on your own maps, adding final touches before the end of deadline. I'm impressed by mapcore community and positive welcome. You rock guys!

As for some details in the reference to feedback

    Deadly Coffee machine
The coffee machine is one of my easter eggs, try not to stand in front of it and watch what will happen It's actually a "mug launcher". I know it can be confusing for the players with the first use. This deadly weapon saved me few times

There are few other Easter Eggs in the map but i won't tell you how many. I will leave it to the players One of EE is activeted by explosion or shooting. And they are basicly a reference to my favourite games.

"[/b]Finally, what's up with that tower thingy? "

    The Tower
The tower is a part of a former malt drying plant. I know that from tactic and gameplay side it is not very useful and very risky to climb it and stay alive at the same time. I wanted it to be a part of the map because it's a very characteristic decoration. Architectural part that you can notice at the first glance getting near the place in the real life.

"Where are the leafs coming from? I don't see any trees up here."

    Leaves on the roof
The trees were cut down because of the new investition that takes place next to the palace

    CT and T models
I'm getting feedback from many players and the propositions differ, i think the map needs more time and then I will be able to pick the right model in reference to the feedback. But i guess there will be some changes here.

I think the location needs testing in terms of big amount of real players, not bots that avoid rooftops and elevators (but sometimes they enter it and I get a heart attack) I would propably have to spent some time giving them manualy navigation waypoints.

So once again thank you for the support and good luck in the contest. Some really good looking maps in the topic list. The contest should be very interesting. Cheers! Przem

I had once, because I didn't change the map file path. Even if it is the same name, redo that part and it should work

Found it few minutes ago as well, ufff. Thanks laminutederire for the quick help!

    Hi guys
Thanks for the great feedback! I did some major changes solving few problems, bugs and other things in the reference to some of your suggestions, but when i try to upload the map i get "nothing was changed, update canceled!" I get the same error when I try to publish a testmap file from my private account. Not sure if something got broken on my side or Steam? Someone had this kind of situation in the past? Thx

Looks great! I hope it plays as good as it looks.

Other than that I feel uncomfortable about making any comment on potential gameplay issues knowing that you've based it (very convincingly) on a real life location.

The props you've made work really nicely, and kudos for the documentation. People should take note!

Thanks jackophant! The office is pretty fun to run around in real life, I just hope it translates well in the game with my choices about which windows or rooms that are accessible!

I really do hope it plays as good as it looks and will not framerate eater. Looks really georgeous.

Thanks ics! I understand your concerns I also hope it will run smoothly in addition to custom video setting of players and hardware they have. Cheers! Przem

This is a whole new level of realism. You left me amazed at how good of a recreation and how beautiful it looks. Some areas could only be distinquished as not real from me recognising props or the tell-tale cs:go lighting

Thank you Quotingmc! I'm really glad you like it :) , and yes I agree there is a limitation in terms of lightning tools and props, but it would take me another year to model them all! haha, Cheers! Przem

First of all i would like to say hello! This is my first post on this forum. I was here few times, but more as a lurker when I was browsing the internet for info about level design, source engine.

I want to show you my first map named "Codewise". It has hostage rescue scenario. I spent one year and more than 800h developing and improving it. I wanted to give the community something that would be as playable, and fun as it can be.
The map is almost 1:1 copy of the office building where I work. Located in Krakow, Poland. I changed few things in order to make it more fun and playable rather then sticking to 100% realism. Development was done mostly at home, but also at work (textures, photos, some of the low poly modelling etc.)
The idea came from one of the bosses making a joke about how the office would make a good CS map so I made it.

I hope you will get as much fun out of it as I had working on it. I played it with my coworkers, with my boss They always commented how weird it was to walk around the office afterwards. Please take a look at the provided screens, I'm very curious to hear what you all will think about it. I'm also looking forward to seeing feedback from you guys, during the contest and after.

Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions, i can provide more screens, photos or information about the project.

    Thanks for the interest!
    Cheers!
