Sorry, should've known better but it's nowhere near ready so I will cut my losses. Spent most of my time on (item)layout and playtesting with people who know how to duel since it was going to be a tourney map, which is trickier than ffa.
Kind of a bummer but good luck to the contestants and I will definitely follow and enjoy the maps that do make the deadline. On the bright side now I can catch up on some sleep. Thanks for hosting this guys, keep rockin' it.

yeah okay I know.., a week before the deadline, but I've already been working on something incredibly unoriginal for about five or six weeks. Hehe I'm afraid this is going to be a shamefull display:P
Glad there hasn't been deadline for signing up. I just couldn't decide if I wanted to fully commit to it because the last thing I want is spend weeks on a map and then having to trash it or worse... send it in unfinished. And of course after seeing some incredible WIP shots and now some beta's from some of the others the first thought in my head was and still is "Right.., OK nevermind!".
That said, in the meantime I couldn't resist to finally use a layout sketch for duel/small ffa that I still had plans for and after a couple weeks it began to feel like it could actually become a playable map, so... there was no way back. Here's a couple of images that don't really show much yet, other than it being nothing special:)

As much as I like and appreciate seeing custom textures I personally would have liked it more if we were all limited to the stock textures, you know almost like going back in time 15 years. I know stock gothic has been done to death but it would kind of make sense and feel more authentic in some way, so I go for 100% stock.
Then again it's almost always a lot of fun to walk around in completely new scenery so I get why people want to use/create and see custom textures and whatnot. (LOL - Flipout's readme said he built his sexy ass map AND created textures in about one month? Hhmm...really. Damn man, it almost took me longer just to plan out a fun layout for a dead simple map.)

Oh well back to work, still plenty of things to do but I doubt I'll make it in time, we'll see where it goes.
