What feels unreal to me is that barbary can strike the world, but until these attacks happen all over the world, France will probably fight all of this alone.

Thanks for your support, but what happened was a threat to France itself, and what lies underneath is an issue the world but especially developped countries have to face rapidly before it all turns to war or such extremities..

Looking forward to the playtest

Hope everyone and their families are okay. It's hard to comprehend.
@leplubodeslapin is the only paris mapcore guy I'm aware of
Yeah I guess there's just him and I, but better know he's okay..

Given the recent events, I want to check on everyone here who could have been harmed, so please pardon me to make a thread for that, I find it stressful enough and everything.
Anyway, I hope everyone is okay at least!

I just looked at metacritic.

So many people are retarded. Here are some of the people that gave cs:go a 0.
you missed the guy saying the game was bad because you couldn't make maps for it

Next week we're going to have a conference held by the big boss of the Société Générale, a big french bank, and Maan does he look like the guy from House of Cards! Coincidence? I don't think so!
-
I guess it's in our responsibility here on mapcore to make this map happen then

Removing dust 2 is maybe to make room for season? Seeing that in majors dust 2 is often vetoed and that we see a lot more of more recent maps, they may try to add some variety in their map pool. If it was up to me I'd make the pool larger by adding 2 maps, don't know which ones but still

it's however more likely that inferno gets pushed out of the pool until it gets modified, just like Nuke was, even if overall they may need less work on it, unless they decide to keep the layout features while redoing the looks, both on dust and inferno, those are valid hypothesis but how likely they are, you tell me!

With mat_leafvis you can see which areas are drawn and it can indicate you if it's properly optimized

Sorry, how can this be? I've reported what I found on the Valve Documentation... and as they are American it makes sense to my European mind.
"The Source Engine 'game unit' corresponds to the Grid Unit in Hammer and XSI editors. The Scale used for Source game maps and models is based on the Imperial Foot so Metric measurements do not translate easily"
If it really is Metric I'd be much happier of course
no conversion needed. But means the wiki is wrong. How hard is it forthem to use the metric system like everyone else?

Not really played it much to be honest mate! I played 3 in coop a lot though and it was a laugh.
Check your PM's you should have the key. Give it a go

hanhabnkI mainly asked because I hesitated between SR and GTA

Thanks
if someone wants it this week or next week, give it to him because I don't think I'll have time for that yet
it's however amazing how easier it is to give rather than receive! -

Friendly advice, don't try to do what you're doing.
Go back, do a true greybox, get a complete layout down. THEN apply some of the cool art you're working on. Do not try to fasten a layout onto a piece of artwork, it's just asking for trouble. Plus, by the time you go back, you'll have more practice with art and do better art.
I think most of us are doing that mistake because of the lack of feedback we usually have before we start detailing. Texturing a bit can help gathering feedback and detailing even more. I think your advice is great, I try to restrain myself as much, but the greybox stage is sometimes hard to progress in because of that
I think that's why he did that. -

welcome to the hell of the source engine

at least you can make it work in some way! Personnally I'd advise you to use the less comfortable way because you'll lose less time doing that rather than finding what's the issue is
-
You might want to try to launch the map through the real game and see if it works

personnally I had trouble with the version of the game that launches after compiling!

Thank you very much everyone for answering so quickly!
Luckily if you can.
fantastic, it makes clear many doubts at once. I had no idea you could do this. I see this much more feasible.
I can know that scale, but this technique requires too much trial and error.
Can I use the free version for maps csgo without problems?
you can but I'd avise you to import particular scaling brushes too as well, because the import dxf part is only available for 30 days

what I did was to import a 64 units cube and a 1 unit cube, and after that you only have to multiply what it gives you in real units for scaling
