Anyone else here sympathize?
I do, I should end up in silvers too since I haven't played matchmaking in like 2months. I remember how tough it was to get out: I had to play with idiots indeed, and I had to carry out the team 6-7 matches in a row to rank up. Since that era I don't go in matchmaking anymore

try to findnova to queue with maybe?

Tried those, they sound really cheap compared to a real sound system. I hope they will do better in the future though

There were videos about crazy sex shit on VR already.
This is the second part of what I intended to write in my post.
In terms of adoption the other thing I wanted to mention is in fact what you can do with it. Although is a big underuse of technology, there's talk about using it for cinema, as it gives you the equivalent size of a tens of thousands $ of screen.
I know that home 3D failed, and I don't expect VR to magically conquest everyone, but more and more people are enjoying home cinema, in that perspective a GearVR is actually an incredible value for money investment, in comparison. That, and other casual use, is much more graspable concept for the average consumer, than spending 1k "to play immersive games"; I would be really glad to have one of those kits for the times I don't feel like staying in the living room and I'd watch a movie in bed!
that's a good idea, but the sound may weigh down the system when compared to a 5.1 surround system

We talked about that in class the other day, vhs was a poor standard but got adopted massively because.. well porn happened, so I guess we will have the same thing for VR device going cheaper for that industry?

@laminutederire isn't making a game much more difficult than a map? That's the reason why I haven't started using Unity/UE: you have to make a game, and if you're alone you have to lay so much groundwork before you can display your concept. Right now I guess one can only showcase FPS material working on UT.
it is indeed that's why I proposed at the end going for UT maps. But you learn very useful things making your own game though. You think about what the rules of the game are and what appropriate gamme mechanics you can have, and then and only then you go on making the according levels. It's good to learn what makes the current games behave the way they do. Counter strike rules are this way for specific reason and to be a great mapper you ought to know why they are this way I guess

Having the ability to search for actual custom props is something people could look for. The idea would then would be to ensure people know what common creative licenses are so that they do go out selling the props people would share there.
I say that because I know that personnally I don't think something is that wrong with the current browser, you ought to know what you're looking for, but when you do you find things easily. Categorizing it will then be something you'd have to do to give a real plus!

I don't know how much that editor has changed since reach when I used it, but I remember it leaving aside the modeling and texturing part, so if you want to seriously make games after those are two things you will probably need to understand (that is if you want to do all the level yourself, which is time consuming indeed)
You can start doing things in hammer too, but you should also know that playing around in more modern game engines like UE4 or Unity (depending on what type of game you want to make) can be better to learn better how game works. At least I learned so much more in Unity creating a little game than in hammer doing maps for cs go. But I am really new to this so my point of view may not be broad enough

Since you know UE4 and Unity, maybe try to do something for Unreal Tournament ? (Just a conjecture, but to me cs go is dying on its old engine, while Unreal tournament should magnificently return with a lot of possibilities and players) in addition it's maybe closer to Halo gameplay than cs go.
The con is that you won't get money out of it like you can in cs go. (While operation maps literally come from the same mappers in cs go)
Good luck to you

This update is great for the SDK! I finally can have my doors open at the first hostage pickup, but in an easy way
(they added logic events for hostages Onfirstpickup, Onrescued etc. )the multiple radars are giving me a bit of a overhead though, has anyone tried it?

Yes! I've been frustrated over this in the past and this would be a good solution to get players to play other maps but D2. At the same time, you're still forcing a majority of players that might have picked D2 a second time to play a map that they don't want, forcing them to quit and look for a D2-server instead. This suggestion is the ideal solution for us, but sadly not for the majority or players

well i see what you mean. But in the meantime, imagine a child playing with little cars. Take one from him to give him the choice, he won't like it, but once he plays with the other he like playing with it anyway

that way we do them a favor
look at how they are stuck on cruise, they wouldn't have if they didn't have the chance to try
-
Cs go voting system is so bad new maps don't have a chance. Look at casual operation wildfire servers, it's cruise all over the place and it doesn't change much. Basically like dust2 on normal servers. To promote new life they would have to have a voting system which forces map rotation.
Simplest thing like not the same map two times in a row, or their random choice not random at all, and it would promote the less played maps

It's a security measure against spambots. It's mentioned when signing up but nobody ever reads anything while signing up for something on the Internet.
I too feel annoyed when people don't read what I read when signing up

I don't recall any tutorial thread where those infos can be put for those who haven't read through everything, is there one?

- Googling unexpected_store_exception seems to suggest reinstalling windows will fix it.
- It will easily last more than 2 years. They can last up to 10 years depending on usage.
- €500 is good for a PC build excluding monitor.
1. First of all I reinstalled it twice. Secondly, it only happens after I move my laptop in my bag, and if I don't move it it doesn't happen. Googling it I found a lot of people with issues with their HDD especially for HP laptops like mine. I'll have a professional check it thoroughly it will be simpler in my opinion, he can test the hardware more easily, after doing so if all the hardware is good, I'll reinstall windows with an upgrade to pro edition. That should leave no place for any error anywhere

2. 10 years sounds good
I'll have to block the automatic windows Defrag utility with an SSD to maximize its life length, right?3. Ahah I'll try to earn more money then!

1. It does BSOD'S like unexpected_store_exception or critical_process_died. It then reboot, but cannot do it because it doesn't find any boot device. It starts working again like 15-30min later and begins by being really slow.
2.yeah being grounded is the part I'm uncomfortable with

3.it can last about 2 years or more?
4. Will do! But 500€ doesn't seem much to buy a computer and a monitor though?

You say almost never crashes when left stationary... Hardrives are pretty robust so unless it's a faulty unit, a drop hard enough to break a hard drive would probably do a lot more obvious damage to other components. RAM can come unseated pretty easily, especially in laptops, so if that's wobbling around in a slot it could definitely cause crashing issues.
Speaking of which, has the laptop been dropped? Provided the laptop can be fixed, purchasing an SSD would be a good way to make it feel more modern and fast, and squeeze a few more years out of it. Maybe change your RAM to allow for more if it's an area your PC lacks. I would guess it's 4GB now? Upgrading to 8GB could be worthwhile and is relatively inexpensive.
So what does that leave you upgrading? You have a desktop computer, but no monitor? So would you be spending 500€ on a screen?
after BSOD'S it doesn't restart right away because it doesn't recognize the HDD anymore (no boot device found).
never been dropped unless if being in its bag, which start falling but is caught mid air counts. That happened to me a few times.
I have 6GB of ram available (8 in total, windows reserving 2GB apparently). I heard SSD had a very limited lifetime, is that true?
I have neither the desktop pc nor the monitor. Thought about buying a monitor, but I don't think my laptop would handle good resolution very well, it has a 1366x768 monitor and when I play I play in medium or low, so the Gpu/CPU combination cannot handle more than that apparently. For me the upgrade would be to go from the laptop to the desktop PC. What I said was that I already have mouse/keyboard/headset/speakers etc. I think all that is needed except the monitor (I may borrow one from my brother though).
