Sorry I couldn't join you guys for the games. Hopefully I'll be free next time!

Did you guys play against each other or form a team of 5 to own some randoms?

Neither. We played as a team of 5 and got stomped on in both games I played

Thanks for the games yesterday. ESEA or Faceit might be better for the next set of games?

Fnatic seem a lot stonger than nip I think. Nip came close to losing a couple times.

Go to the interview if just for the experience.

I get recruiter calls/Emails all the time but ignore more of them (they normally CTRL-F your CV...)

My boss is saying buy a new fibre router...I asked him (he's got like 10 year network experience at high level) and he's saying anything blocked by the first router will not be passed any further down the line so either you find a way of turning off the UDP reservation or totally bypassing it or you'll just need a decent fibre router.

If other people on here follow the same workflow they won't have any 'spare' layouts to give

    1. design layout

    2. tweak layout to match theme if required

    3. Build map fully and release

If I was to drop a map at the layout stage it's probably because it doesn't work. Successful layouts are normally used- which is why everyone is telling him (or her) to remake an existing map

I agree with Tom about the thin walls. Negative space is your friend on CSGO maps

Or you can be like me and take on a project of making a defuse map with no knowledge of 3D level design and spend months revising stuff and learning.

This is what I did. Made a level got it close to completion but fucked stuff up on the way. Rebuilt from scatch with a new VMF and it's a lot better.

Yes that could work. You might need two external IP addresses though depending on how good the fibre router is.

We use a similar method at work for our branches.

Cisco ASA 5505 holding a VPN back here

Dumb piece of shit router - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/22169…ff14=108&ff19=0- holding the ADSL connection

We turn off NAT etc on the billion and just have it hold the connection. the heavy lifting is all the cisco.

Edit- Basically it might work on your set but can't say for sure without seeing your set up.

Okay had a run about in it

    - Bombsites are too open. you want them to be close environments the players has to breach. This hurts the gameplay in two ways:

    • Terrorists struggle for a safe plant but if they do:
    • CTs will struggle to check all angles before defusing

    - Func_detail stairs and all pillars etc. If you turn off Func_detail in the visgroups you should be left with Cube rooms. No pillars and no stairs. how many numportals do you currently have?!

    - Some pretty long lines of sight (one from t spawn right into mid. Without any sort of cover on either side this probably would be annoying for players.

-Map seems too big. According to Bot_showbattlefront 1 you have 5-6 chokes on the map which is like double what you want. I would be simplifying.

  • [CSGO] Good map rotation times

    Quote from Bodd Jonar

I think this is what makes Dust2 so good. The long rotate times, the fact that T can watch CT rotate and the way the bombsites are made, The fact that A-site is "above" the rotate path makes that bombsite very special, and B is just hell to enter as CT.

1.6 used to be a lot better for taking B. door was flipped so you could check car and then use window to check backplat. No idea what the door was flipped

Moroes: Where? Was it after an alt-tab on Windows? It can cause these issues.

onebit: you're the greatest person on Mapcore right now. The first 2 positions where the bomb is stuck, you can go alone with a trickjump, but I'm wondering if I should put a trigger_bomb_reset on top of it.

Squad: I wanted to schedule a playtest after the release but this month is so busy
