You need to nodraw a lot more too. That overview shouldn't be showing so many textured roofs ![]()

is that...a wall of props?
-
my first electric razor. Got to love the feeling of something that seemingly should be shredding your face but is not.
lot less hassle than using broken glass though

-
I think this enforces the point I was making before about you having too much going on. you could probably improve the feel (and optimisation) of the map by simplifying areas and having less brushwork/props.
-
build your map as a greybox with little to no props. don't think TOO much about what area is going to be- you can do that later.

obvs I mean if DOESNT boot

-
we use HDD caddies at work for this sort of thing.
if you have any other laptop HDDs kicking about I would swap it into the vaio and see if it boots. That'll rule out anything else if it does.

crashes are historically caused by area portals. Do you have any on your map?
-
@Dosentti you should show what you're having an issue with.
you want to keep the map as logical as much as possible. They shouldn't have to 'test' what is and isn't bangable.
-
you could fill it with nodraw I guess depending on the shape?

Quote from blackdog
The cables is the limitation atm, I'm not much into VR but it's the device I'm trusting/interested the most in.
The Link necessitates of Ethernet right? I'm really interested because I'm connecting the laptop continuously to the TV to play, and it's a pain (at least for now that I only have 1 HDMI cable)… but I can't have the cable goodness where I'm living
so far I was just thinking if to build a machine on the cheap to play at least less demanding games. (But I guess any cheap machine would cost as much as a console, although I want to play my Steam library)what's your wifi speed? it runs REALLY well over 10mb/s eth so if your wifi matches that it should be fine.

@REz just reliesed I'll miss the playtest as I'm in france on sunday. Goodluck for the test

Air ducts is a good idea. The problems with props/ducts etc through as you get pretty static results from nades. Since there isn't a vast open space the only nade spots possible are the ones you design.
Might be idea to look at adding skylights or making areas of the map more open to allow for more varied gameplay.
-
Is the map fully inside? That may hinder gameplay - nades etc.
-
he had one yesterday.

I think the chokes need to be reworked. They felt a bit meatgrindery.
-
The spot you were sitting on with an auto in mid. It's inside and I think you have to jump twice to get there
-
So many areas of this map just make akward encounters. Like that area you kept killing me from. Did you not think the spot was a little OP when you were sitting on it?

well worth the read.
I would also look at how the 'aqueduct' could be more visible around the map and how it ties to the overall theming.
I personally would move it so it's over both bombsites and make the support columns the bombtargets. Obviously this would take a lot of rejigging to work but it would give the map more of a unique edge imo.
