Are we able to test an arms race map on this server?

I'm still making it so it won't be available any time soon.

I've started to block out the map witch has had a lot of changes to the layout. I started to think this certain part of my map would make a good arms race map, so I've decided to make it that.

The new name will be, of course, ar_Temple

    preview images coming soon!

Going to start this map again. More detail in the original post at the top.

I have been trying to get a job since I turned 18 a couple of months ago and it has been so stupid recently. I applied a few times to pets mart because I love animals and every application has been denied by a automated computer. The confusing part is my application seems really good, even to my tutor and my dad.

I'm getting some help with getting a job since I required special needs with certain things but that starts in a few weeks.

Early stage (playable version) of the map I am currently working called de_pump / de_community (worktitle ):

Layour pretty final, needs a lot of work on detailing and textures/creating an atmosphere.

I found a part of a wall missing to the left of ct spawn right here:

If you need any help with the detailing, send me a friend request on steam and we can talk.

First off... I peed a little with the laughter that image gave me.

Now to a more serious point. I just thought of a way to possibly motivate yourself more or just keep you more interested in doing your project. Its trying to think of a way to make your project in a different way or style than your standard way of making things. I saw this video on you tube where this guy was making a csgo defusal map and he tried to make the map by making the different areas of the map separately from each other like making mid first and testing that part and moving on to other stuff and repeat the process until he had all the parts done. He then put all the different parts of the map together and then just detailed and released the map.

What do you guys think of this idea?

    Hey guys,

I thought I would like to discuss this as I know plenty of people have this problem like I do. Its trying to stay motivated when doing projects. People have an imagination full of creative ideas to make but only a handful of them actually get finished. My most recent attempt was make a csgo defusal map which I made a topic about here on mapcore.

I would just like some ideas or suggestions that would help me or anybody else with the same problem.

    Thanks!

I have some questions about the textures in this map:

Do you use VTEX for making the VTF files and make the VMT file by yourself or do you just use VTF Edit for this?

How do you go about making sure that the white walls aren't just plain white and boring? (I thought I saw the video had some glossy stuff to it to make it shiny and you added some decals too)

    Hello everyone,

I posted a topic on how to keep being motivated to finish projects because I wasn't feeling motivated anymore to finish this map. Since then, I saw some stuff in that post that says its more about discipline than motivation. Now, I'm really eager to start this map again and actually finish it too.

Any updates will be added under here.

    Hey guys,

I haven't posted much on the forums here but still would like to start a discussion about 1080p, especially with the next gen consoles in mind.

First, I would like to say that games don't need 1080p. This is because I would much rather have a solid 60 fps for better gameplay. If they also need to drop the resolution to add in some more gameplay mechanics, that's just as good. 1080p is just an addition if they have the power for it. People are saying the xbox sucks compared to the ps4 because it doesn't have as much power to output at 1080p. This is the lamest thing I have ever heard. A lot of people today review a game initially based off of it's visual quality witch is stupid.

So what would you like to have in a game? Better gameplay or better graphics.

  • Help with making a UV map for a geosphere

    • Rolling101
    • June 6, 2014 at 3:31 AM

    Hey guys,

This is my first post here and I would like to ask a question. How would I make a UV map for a geosphere in 3ds max? Its not just a regular geosphere. Its the dome from a mw3 map also called dome that I'm going to recreate in the cs go sdk for a custom arms race map. Just google "mw3 dome" if you don't know what I'm talking about.

Here is a link to the image of what I have so far:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/ha1sxylgwdv4rvq/Dome.png

I have an idea of what I would like to do I just don't know how to do it. I would like to put the triangles into randomly assorted stacks to save on UV space but I don't know what to do with the metal frames surrounding them.

Any help would be much appreciated!
