I love this sort of electro/swing/jazz thing going on:

And these guys, I like them a lot (good ol' <<obscure subgenre prefix>>rock):

    Agreed. Amazing actor!

He's in all/most of Neill Blomkamp's films. Sharlto Copley is his name

He played the lovable Vickus in Disctrict 9 (FOOK'N PRRRORNS), and does the mocap for CHAPPiE as well!

I looked it up a while ago, but it's a really nice story how he actually provided the means for Neill Blomkamp to learn how to direct. To return the favour Blomkamp is now letting him live his own dream of becoming an actor which he was never able to do before due to the state of film in South Africa at the time.

Wasn't the game supposed to be set in Rio? I remember the reveal… then I've seen part of a review and they weren't able to say where is set, now I see that screenshot and wonder whether they changed completely

Judging from the surroundings, names, spellings etc. it would look to be somewhere in the Middle East vicinity. My money's on Turkey as there's a muslim influence, but not very strict. But there is also a distinct lack of mosques.

The asset recycling is pretty bad. I'm fairly sure all the male children are the same Mexican child just being shared around. The environment isn't very coherent and the slums hub would make more sense for Rio. The old city hub is just...

    /me shrugs

Maybe it's just a Turkish Brazilian hybrid and it's not that they can't say where it is, it's that it doesn't exist? Anyone from Techland around here who's brains we could pick?

On a side note, I have really been pumping the hours into this game. The grappling hook is tremendous fun, takes the parkour to a spiderman level. Not a fan of it's 2 shot/cooldown mechanic though. And grenades! Holy crap! Toss a DIY grenade into a large group zombies and watch them turn into a fine red mist. That or pick up a heavy axe, apply an impact mod to it and windmill through open areas of zombies!

I really love this game! I could literally talk about amusing scenarios with weapons/grappling/drop kicking all day. AND double vaulting! If 2 players have the vault ability they can run head on at each other and break physics by both vaulting off each other simultaneously... ok ok ok ok

I'm a fan of Dells, they're pricing can be a bit wonky sometimes but luckily this seems ok. Would you not maybe want a wee bit more GFX grunt?

Are you sure you want 17"? I got my 17 as a desktop replacement, and it's very cumbersome. Admittedly, this would be lighter, but I map quite happily on my 15".

But with your own server you can do whatever you want! You can publish each new iteration directly to it from hammer and ask people to pop on. Or just use the workshop so everyone is up to date. (I'm not sure how to link a dedicated server with the workshop so don' ask me!)

If I'm not busy I'm always willing to run around a server.

The better option would to be try and set your own server up. That way whenever you want to try something out, you can make it live with a password.

The locally hosted server as Ex said, is strange. I also find that my screen as host cuts out / goes black when someone joins.

Those large metal doors in the last screenshot don't really match the aesthetic of the flats/apartments around it

I'm guessing there are inside paths? Some nodraw surfaces on the roofs is not only good practice for optimisation, but would've helped us see the rest of the map.

I will say that A and B are almost mirror images of each other. There isn't much to differentiate them other than a raised flanking route on B

This is getting tedious. Not wanting lots of 90 degree angles is fine, but having a convoluted maze that no-one uses is not the solution. You haven't seen that layout in an official/operatin map not because you're the first to think about it, but because it doesn't work

That Vietcong level tunnel system offers no tactical pay off. The timings are off, they all lead to the same small square area above or below B. All it does is waste time and make it glaringly obvious that Ts aren't pushing A.

Not to mention the architecture is entirely unrealistic.

Below is my cleaner suggestion. I have cut out most of the tunnel system, and the green circled bit is the area you'll want to clean up as I realise they are at different heights.

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/eVuxvkj.jpg]

I'd also suggest tweaking CT underpass. It's a no thrills rail ride straight to B. It's only use is too/from B and it's more or less a straight line, completely useless in a retake as you can be held off from so far away.

Honestly, people always want to help, but if you are so set in doing your way then fine...

You're doing things "because you want/feel like it" not based on critical feedback. You've given us a hexagon and told us it's a wheel. We're trying to tell you how to chip the extra edges off to make the circle, but you'd rather just have a hexagon.

have you tried the companion app yet?

it's quite nifty, you run missions that take x number of minutes, using it's own currency and you can send it into your own game as an air drop for collection (which i have yet to do).

right now all i have is a pitiful amount of money, a medkit and some alcohol to send myself, lol

You always have to take Sci-Fi with a pinch of salt, but what I thought was done so well is that it reflected the futuristic direction that games are currently taking us.

For the sake of reference, the city I live in now has 508.940 people.

I don't understand the European use of commas in long numbers! I keep reading them as decimal points and wondered why you would need to specify them as whole human beings with such a degree of accuracy!

For comparison, my hometown is a little over 20,000 people, but has very good transport links into London

Razer deathadders and diamondbacks is where the moneys at. Done me great for 10 years.

Did you adjust the polling rate at all? And when you removed the drivers did you remove everything? Registry entries, etc.

    I had a diamondback as a hand me down from my dad, I then used it for {incomputable amount of time}

I've been using a steelseries Sensei. I bought it mainly for the interchangeable colours and the LCD panel on the underside, as I'm a sucker for customisation like that. But it's seriously a solid mouse with a metal top plate (not to be confused with metal finish), braided cable and good ambidextrous design, as I too quite like that layout.

Might have something to do with the size of my hands.

I also use a Logitech MX Revolution of some description at work which is great, but ergonomically I have to pinch it for my fingers to fit in the "ergonomic" spaces...
